What do we think of the name Argon? I think it sounds noble but DH says he associates it with the far right!

It's a NO from me. Nitric oxide that is.

MrsSkylerWhite · 19/12/2021 10:45

Just takes me back to science lessons I’m afraid.

RobertSmithsLipstick · 19/12/2021 10:44

It's kind of awful, really.

HacerSonarSusPasos · 19/12/2021 10:43

Argan oil. No no

Classica · 18/12/2021 17:06

Argon ought not be a name for a human.

MissCruellaDeVil · 18/12/2021 14:59

@DropYourSword

I thought “washing machines live longer with Argon”?!
It's calgon lol.
TwistedOlivers · 18/12/2021 13:58

Middle name 'Oil' ?

(Yeah I know it's Argan.. 🙃)

Kdubs1981 · 18/12/2021 13:49

No

Justkeeppedaling · 18/12/2021 13:35

@RunRunGingerbreadMan

Isn't it 'Calgon' that helps washing machines live longer? Also a good name option Wink

Or Boron.
(Or is the nn too predictable?)

REP22 · 18/12/2021 12:38

@DropYourSword

I thought “washing machines live longer with Argon”?!
@DropYourSword That was "Calgon" (sorry; photographic memory, particularly for advertising slogans and jingles. It's very tedious) Wink

But I wouldn't name a child after a gas. Or a washing-machine descaler.

oviraptor21 · 18/12/2021 12:36

Well if we're going there then Einsteinium works too

Burgerqueenbee · 18/12/2021 12:33

And to add this was 16 years ago, so even more strange!

Burgerqueenbee · 18/12/2021 12:32

GrinGrinGrin

Although joking aside I worked with someone called xenon, his older sister was called Jessica so I'm not sure if they hit their heads in between?!

titchy · 18/12/2021 12:08

In theory i prefer Unennium, likely to be a very unstable person though.

viques · 18/12/2021 12:05

I think I would just call my gassy child Jumping Jack Flash and be done with it. (Nickname JJ )

TheSandgroper · 18/12/2021 12:01

It’s a gas. Your kid will be called “Fart”.

I am happy to be corrected but I believe fart is a good Shakesperean word. That’s something, isn’t it?

ErrolTheDragon · 18/12/2021 10:41

@coatilove

No OP. Just no.
Presumably you mean NO? That's a bit radical.
EishetChayil · 18/12/2021 10:28

Dreadful.

coatilove · 18/12/2021 10:21

No OP. Just no.

GingerFigs · 18/12/2021 10:20

@ErrolTheDragon high flier...helium 🤣🤣

hedgehogger1 · 18/12/2021 10:17

What about Xenon. I think Argon is too mainstream

RunRunGingerbreadMan · 18/12/2021 10:07

Isn't it 'Calgon' that helps washing machines live longer? Also a good name option Wink

TheCreamCaker · 18/12/2021 10:04

This. It's not a proper name.

Mumoftwoinprimary Fri 17-Dec-21 23:18:01
Far less common than Oxygen or Nitrogen.

givemepiece · 18/12/2021 09:58

Oh goodness. Don't mind me, I missed the joke.

Xmas Blush
givemepiece · 18/12/2021 09:53

Omg no just no

Why all the scrambling to have a name that no one else (of sane mind) would call their child.
Just why?!

It is a GAS not a name
