Kailani (Kai meaning sea and lani meaning heaven/sky in Hawaiian)

Kai means food or eat in Hawaiian, not sea.

Lorelei

Lorelei is a rock in the middle of the Rhine, where a siren sits luring men to their death.

I went to school with a girl named Schorr, pronounced 'shore', and she was named after the seashore.

SadAboutSD · 18/12/2021 19:05

I think the name Yoko means ' ocean child.'

Cornishmumofone · 18/12/2021 19:04

Morvoren - mermaid
Morgelyn - sea holly

BiscuitLover3678 · 18/12/2021 19:03

@VanillaAndOrange

There's a little girl called Oceana I see around in this area. Her mum pronounces it Oh-she-aah-na, not just ocean-a.

Not strictly a "sea" name I suppose, but Adrianna always makes me think of the deep sea blue colour I associate with the Adriatic.

That horrible club chain where you get groped whilst listening to cheesy music Wink

Ariel not Aries

BiscuitLover3678 · 18/12/2021 19:01

My first thoughts were
Marina
Aries
Azure
Darya

sourrain · 18/12/2021 19:00

Sennen is lovely but it is spelled with an E if you want it to be related to the ocean! Lowenna and Lamorna are also lovely but not necessarily ocean/sea related other than the fact they are Cornish and Cornwall has a coast... Lowenna means Joy for example.

Cove
Coral
Pearl
Zennor
Ariel
Marina

@Echofallen

Anenome, little sea creatures but I love the way it sounds.
That's a word I often trip over.

Amemome
Amenome
Anemoneomne

AngelicaElizaAndPeggy · 18/12/2021 18:53

The thing is, you have to be very careful not to make your new child sound like a boat. However, what about Ariel for a nod to the little mermaid? I love that name!

whywouldntyou · 18/12/2021 18:52

@Mumsnut

Maris
As long as your surname isn't Piper. Grin
Echofallen · 18/12/2021 18:43

@Cotswoldmama

Anemone is a flower so wouldn't be that strange as a name.
So it is! :)
Chakraleaf · 18/12/2021 18:40

Coral
Nixie-reflections on the water
Moana
Pearl
Doris-gift of the ocean
Delta
Yara- lady of the sea
