Positives, negatives, opinions?

Please don’t suggest Beatrice instead because we far prefer the X version. Thanks!

A sister for Asterix.

Foxglovers · 12/12/2021 09:41

I love the name and was on my lists but my DP wasn’t as keen.
Not sure why so many people have a thing about saying the name will get mispronounced or misspelled, as if correcting this would be such an annoyance through life?! I have a name that I’m surprised if people spell it correctly the first time as it so rarely happens and has honestly never bothered me?!

ColdShouldersWarmTummy · 12/12/2021 03:41

Love it. A bad ass name imo.

CakesOfVersailles · 12/12/2021 01:16

I like it - I do immediately think "Potter" though.

Luredbyapomegranate · 12/12/2021 01:13

It's OK

Sansa717 · 11/12/2021 21:16

Thank you all! I like both Bea and Trixie/Trix so no worries there.

Love it!

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 11/12/2021 20:47

Nice choice. I'm afraid I'll always prefer classic Beatrice since it reminds me of Dante and Shakespeare, but Beatrix sounds a bit funkier which is cool - also gives you/her the choice of "Trixie" more easily, as well as "Bea" if she want a nn.

No real negatives that I can see, apart from possible confusion with Beatrice - but lots of names have that (Amelia/Emilia, Mia/Mila, Lyra/Lila etc)

MoominMeggy · 11/12/2021 20:19

I like it. Much prefer to Beatrice. Dh vetoed it as he thought it was too associated with Beatrix Potter. I don't agree, but I'm not keen on Trixy as a nn - prefer Bea.

wingsofabird · 11/12/2021 19:32

Absolutely love it

VioletWillow · 11/12/2021 17:13

I have a Beatrix, she gets called Bea usually. Sometimes she gets called Beatrice but not that often. It suits her, I think.

Willadvice2021 · 11/12/2021 17:12

Love it and the potential shortening version.

LesLavandes · 11/12/2021 17:12

I prefer Beatrice

Edenember · 11/12/2021 17:11

Like it. I do much prefer ‘the other one’, but still nice. Not at all keen on Trixie though.

Blueuggboots · 11/12/2021 17:10

I used to have an auntie Trix who was officially Beatrix.

Buddhabowl · 11/12/2021 17:05

I like Beatrix and much prefer with the X, I like Trixie

Babydust13 · 11/12/2021 16:48

I love names with an x in
I think it's cute for a baby not sure how well it ages

garlictwist · 11/12/2021 16:48

My sister is a Beatrix and she has always been called Bea.

SoapySnowflake · 11/12/2021 16:47

One of my all time favourite girls names!

Newmum110 · 11/12/2021 16:44

Love it

Viviennemary · 11/12/2021 16:44

Not keen . It will always be spellt wrongly. Very tedious for whoever has the name.

AdaColeman · 11/12/2021 16:43

She may well get Trix or Trixie as a nickname, which I'm not keen on.

FuzzyPenguin · 11/12/2021 16:41

Love it, it’s a name I would seriously consider if I ever had a baby girl.

AcrobaticCardigan · 11/12/2021 16:41

Love it!

Brendabigbaps · 11/12/2021 16:39

She’ll still get Beatrice when she’s out tho!
My Beatrix does and it drives me potty.
