I think we've decided on this. The sound is lovely, it's Welsh, not popular.
What haven't we thought of?

I really like it too.
My first thought, like first reply was Nerys Hughes from the Liver Birds, but that is no issue - she always seemed lovely anyway.

I might be biased as have Welsh heritage but live in England. I think Nerys fits into the group of names that sounds Welsh but can be pronounced and spelled easily enough by non-Welsh speakers.

Lovely choice. Smile

If they weren't cool in the seventies then now is the time! Think of all the names popular now that no one would have dreamed of calling their children back then - the Arthurs, and the Adas or Elsie and so on.

I like it BTW.

Disclaimer: I was born early 70s. However, Nerys and Rhian were the least cool names you could possibly have when I was in school.

I like it

@CheshireCats no but we both have Welsh ancestry. Ooh brilliant! Very positive so far...watch someone come along and spoil it Grin

Are you in Wales op?

DramaAlpaca · 09/12/2021 23:11

My only association is the same as MatildaJayne.

It's a very pretty name and you don't come across it often. I say go for it.

SirSamuelVimes · 09/12/2021 23:10

Reminds me of Kira Nerys (star trek deep space nine). She was ace! So I like it.

MatildaJayne · 09/12/2021 23:08

I like it. It does remind me of Nerys Hughes of the Liverbirds, but that’s not a problem.
