I love the name Alice, but I feel like it's all over mumsnet at the moment. How many Alices do you know under the age of 2?

I don't know any little Alices.

It's a beautiful name! Classical and pretty and ageless. I would definitely go for it.

toastofthetown · 01/12/2021 10:06

I know one little Alice. But unless you know where I am then I’m not sure that is useful. And if popularity is a concern then I’d look beyond that last couple of years. If you are in in England and Wales Alice has been in the top hundred for girls since the 1980s. Your daughter will only be in age groups for 18-21 years of her life. After that, she’ll be in mixed age groups and there will be 40 years worth of Alice’s all around her. Alice is a popular name and if that’s not for you, then I’d consider something else.

CaffiSaliMali · 01/12/2021 09:54

None.

I know 4 women named Alice in their late 20s/early 30s plus one Alicia and one Alison in the same age bracket.

Alys (the Welsh version) is on my list. Alice/Alys is a great name IMO.

Fl0w3ry · 01/12/2021 09:41

One 10 year old.

Santaischeckinglists · 01/12/2021 09:15

My mate's dd has Alice as a middle name. Dd thinks it Alice in Wonderland.. It's actually after Alice Cooper!!

Trinacham · 01/12/2021 06:32

None under the age of 2. I only went to school with 1 as well (I'm 31)

THATlittleBANGER · 01/12/2021 06:30

I know none and work with under 5s (also have 3 under 5s of my own)

The song is my first thought

Longdistance · 01/12/2021 06:28

I have a 10 yo Alice. Don’t know of any baby Alice’s.

sparklytriceratops · 01/12/2021 06:22

Ah thanks all!

I always see the 'who the f is Alice' song mentioned on these threads- but I'd honestly never heard of it before I saw it on mumsnet, so doesn't bother me at all.

Nutsabouttopic · 30/11/2021 23:53

I don't know any under two but my eighteen years old daughter is called Alice. It's a great name. She goes by Ali with her friends and Alice at home or work.
She's definitely not a drip, she's a bit wild, very outgoing and completely lovable

Phoenix76 · 30/11/2021 23:51

@Santaischeckinglists

Who the fuck is Alice??
Yup that “song” would worry me too but hopefully by the time she’s old enough for it to matter it would be pretty unknown. Alice in Wonderland is cool though.

To answer your question 0 and I also love the name.

wishuponamoon · 30/11/2021 23:30

I know one and one alice in her mid 20s

yourestandingonmyneck · 30/11/2021 23:19

I know 3 Alice's between the ages of 1 and 7.

How about Alison? I don't know any Alisons under 40.
