I am a mother to a 7yr old daughter named Poppie-Maria and a 6yr old son Kayne. I am almost 7 months pregnant with my third child a beautiful baby daughter which I have chosen to name Blaise-Elizabeth. I really love the name and so do both my other children but haven't really had the best reaction from anyone else that I've told. I've had a few funny looks and comments such as it being a boys name and also been told outright that it's a terrible name and cruel to call a baby girl Blaise. Now I'm second guessing if I should stick to a name that I love and defend my choice or if I should let the opion of others change my mind.

I think Blaise is a boy's name traditionally.

Elizabeth is lovely.

Maybe go for Elizabeth Blaise.

Or Blake Elizabeth? Blake is also traditionally male but Blake Lively has made it a known girl's name too.

What about Blair instead if you like the sound of Blaise? Agree with PPs though, Elizabeth is a lovely first name.

Your choice, obviously. But raised eyebrows possibly because Blaise is a male name. Has been for centuries. So Blaise-Elizabeth is a bit like Edward-Mary or Henry-Susan.

St Blaise was very popular in the past - people with sore throats prayed to him for a cure. He was usually portrayed as a tall broad man - almost a giant - with a bushy beard.

Blaise Pascal was a famous mathematician and philosopher - as well-known in his day as Einstein is now. And he was a man.

I think Blaise is more traditionally a boy's name. It's the name of a male saint so quite well known for being a male name. Elizabeth is lovely and so many nice nicknames. Could Elizabeth be her first name and Blaise her middle name if you love it?

It is a boys name.
Elizabeth is lovely. Would you reverse the order so that the obviously feminine name is first?
