How do you feel when you see your child’s name mentioned?

Just curious how you feel when you see your child’s name being discussed and the general consensus is a “hell no!” Grin

The only time I ever really see my son’s names come up is when there is a “Is this a naughty boy’s name?” thread. Grin

Incidentally, both my boys are very well behaved Grin

I’ve also just seen my name being discussed as a potential for a girl and let’s say the feedback wasn’t the most flattering Grin

The whole thing does make me smile Grin

Mine is associated with someone connected to a particularly heinous crime now.
She wasn't born when I was named though.

My name comes up occasionally, as a suggested nice name, I don’t really like it and wouldn't sadle a child with it.

I read on here that DD1 has a Kardashian name. She most certainly does not! It’s a beautiful name and really suits her.

My name is apparently rising in popularity. Quite a few children are being named it ( especially in Ireland- so I've heard on here).
DD's name is either loved or twee. However I've committed the sin of giving her a filler go-to middle name. A very popular one.Grin
DS's name has a wholesome image on here. As does his middle name. Most comments are positive but I don't think either are a mumsnet favourite. A little meh I've decided.

DS1s name always gets positive reviews on here.
DS2s is more mixed although people always insist it will most definitely be shortened. His isn't. Or at least so rarely that I don't notice.

My children have relatively unusual names, so I did a search for the past 5 years. DD's name was mentioned once, associated with a brand name and an animal. DS's name is apparently simple, unusual, international and possibly gothic, but has too many political associations for many posters.

My name and DS1's name tend to receive approving comments on here which I find quite nice to read.

DD's name is categorised as 'nice but too popular' (true).

DS2's name doesn't come up much (not sure why) and I have literally never seen DH's name on a baby names thread. It's a name you'll definitely have heard of, but clearly out of fashion for the current generation of babies!

Elder DD is usually described as 'overused, will date and 5 in every class'. (Its an old family name, she's met one other and that was in her younger sister class. Never in her own class in two nurseries and 5 schools!).

Younger DD... comes up in the underused and beautiful threads.

I couldn’t care less. I would never have asked irl - do you like this name, shall I use it - and though I’d never be rude, I don’t understand why people ask on here tbh. If you like a name, use it, stuff what anyone else thinks. Incidentally, if on the v rare occasion my own very unusual, ‘forrin’ name gets discussed - it’s pretty much unanimous with the lovely, unique, beautifuls, whereas I hate it Grin

My children's names are never really discussed as they are unique... although DS name has popped up a few times as a alternative choice.

My own name however used to be a hell no but thanks to a few popularity tweaks is now considered a lovely name.

I find this baffling, a lot of people must have changed their minds just through the power of the media.

One of my boys names gets very mixed reviews - I have a laugh. We love his name, he loves his name but some of the criticisms are quite funny.

Mumsnet absolutely hates my DD’s name, but I couldn’t give two fucks. I think most of the names that are liked on here are ridiculously girly and woolly, so it’s just not my style (how many more Sophia’s, Grace’s or Evie’s can the world handle?!)
