Christoph is in his late 20s. Slight build, but tall, piano fingers. He's pale with wispy brown hair. Not handsome, but just a bit plain looking. She is fascinated by the rituals and processes that surround death and experiences a huge amount of satisfaction from being able to help people plan their loved ones' last journey.

Valentina is a dancer and gymnast.

Wendy

Astrid is a 55 year old yoga teacher specialising in yoga for menopause. She has long grey hair which he wears in a loose bun, loose natural coloured clothes and bare feet.

They live in a Victorian terrace in Greenwich. She is married to Jerome and they have no kids so enjoy their income on beautiful restaurants and holidays.

Astrid is 18 works studies Art at Uni. Lives in the Halls of Residence.

Astrid’s parents (Oriel and Raymond) are free spirits. Astrid was home schooled and is an only child. As soon as she got to 16 she enrolled in college and is studying English, History and Politics. She is very conventional unlike her parents and feels out of place in this world. She is really enjoying meeting new people and is planning to go to university 300 miles away from Brighton where she grew up.

Wendy

Astrid is 80 and was a folk singer in the sixties and seventies. She still wears her grey hair long and with her high cheekbones and Slavic beauty it still looks glamorous rather than ageing. She couldn't really sing much back then but she looked amazing shaking a tambourine whilst wearing a long cheesecloth smock and it's surprising how far that and a pair of startling green eyes can take you.

She had a string of amours in her heyday including a well documented tryst with David Crosby and is most famous for a tempestuous marriage to the guitarist from a Californian Folk-Rock group who had a couple of hit singles in the 60s, mainly because they sounded a bit like The Byrds. He died of a heroin overdose in 1979 and Astrid has been a recluse ever since then, living in her mansion in Laurel Canyon with her 6 dogs, refusing requests for interviews and walking the canyon at night to watch the stars and think about her lost love.

Valentina

Anne is quiet, middle class, wears cardigans and reads classic literature. She knits or crochets and likes spending time in coffee shops.

Francesca is quite pretty, ladylike and quiet. Works in a bookshop. Some people call her Fran but she hates it and only likes her full name used.

Sheila is 70. However she looks and acts much younger (I mean in a fun loving way rather than immature). Life and soul of the party. Very glamorous in a put together way though not mutton dressed as lamb.
The type who would give her last penny but she’s also no walk over. Has a Heart of gold but try and rip it out God help you.

Her husband is called Ed. She’s been married since she was 18. She worked part time for her own sanity rather than needing the money as Ed is quite comfortable.
She’s now retired and works one day a week at a charity shop.
She has 2 sons and 1 daughter. They are all very close in age (her sons are over 6ft tall). Very close to mum and extremely protective. They won’t let the wind blow on her.

Her daughter is petite and more of a daddy’s girl.

However enjoys shopping trips with mum.
Her kids are called Alan David (Dave) and Pamela (Pam).
She was strict but fair and very loving mum.
She is stricter with Pam than she is with her boys.
However she’s an extremely easy going nan and often defends her grand kids if her kids tell them off.
Her grand kids have her wrapped around their little fingers. She’s a very hands on nan and it’s very rare to see her without at least one set of Grand kids.

Toby is 46. His name suited him when he was 7 but now that he works in banking doesn’t sit so well.

She owns a nice little terraced house in Peckham which she bought outright when she was 22 with the windfall inheritance her grandmother left her. She likes Peckham but it's really getting too young for her now with all the students floating around in their second hand cardigans.

Rachel is single, but is currently having a steamy affair with one of the sous chefs at the hotel. They meet for trysts in empty rooms in their lunch hours. It's going nowhere but it makes Rachel feel young again when he fumbles her out of her Reiss suit and pants unmentionable things into her hair.

Tracey is 51 and a Teaching Assistant at a SEN school. She is very outspoken, some say very irritating, but she's a great advocate for the kids in her class. She dyes her hair black at home and wears a lot of skinny black jeans which she looks great in as she's naturally skinny.
