David own his own hair salon : ‘David John Hairdressing’.
He is 54 and works part time in the salon as Senior style director and only really cuts hair for his loyal clients nowadays - many of whom have been with him since he opened in 1985.
He employs a full staff of young staff who he pays minimum wage.
He owns the salon outright , prime location in the city centre and lives a walk away in a city centre penthouse.
David has an ex partner called Neil who used to work in the salon. Their relationship ended when Neil had an affair with a young man 20 years his junior.
David is very bitter and (naturally) very angry.
Hell hath no fury like a (David) scorned.
David is out for revenge.

Denise lives in Kensal Rise. With her husband Derek. Their 5 kids have flown but are all happy and doing well in their own ways, mostly still in and around London. So every Sunday they all gather at Denise's for a giant Jamaican Sunday lunch. The kids (and now their partners too) love it, and although it leaves Denise knackered by Sunday evening it's the highlight of her week. So she never complains. Derek though knows it's becoming quite tiring, so brings her tea and crumpets to eat on a tray on for tea. And occasionally if she's lucky he gives her the best foot massage.

So much to do and so many people to serve.
Jane works part time but often has time off when things get on top of her.
She is hoping to retire soon if her husband Neil gets a decent payout when he finishes at 65 in 2 years time.

Hannah chose her name when she arrived in Britain from China, because she liked the palindrome. She's industrious to the point of having anxiety about any form of failure, but most of her friends would never know. She's a superb cook and unstintingly generous

Madeline is at a Russel Group university studying English. She was always in the top set at school, she's sporty and popular with boys and girls. She is athletic with blonde hair and is one of those girls who always seems to fit in and succeeds at anything she does. Her parents are incredibly proud of her and can't wait for her to come home from uni for Christmas.

Joseph’s girlfriend is pregnant with their first child. Well, I say ‘their’ first child but the truth is, they haven’t had sex yet so he’s not quite sure what’s going on.
They’re currently homeless and it’s all a bit of a mess. He’s thinking nearer to her due date they’ll pack up the belongings they have, get on their donkey and travel somewhere quiet where she can have the child without raising any eyebrows from local gossips.

Her DC are grown up, and she loves having the grandchildren to stay, but secretly prefers having their dogs when they go off on family holidays

Gregory is 67, wears wax jackets, owns a springer spaniel and likes to take long walk.

Eluned is 53 and small with greying blond hair and grey eyes. She was born in St David's and is a fluent Welsh speaker. She's fiercely proud of her mother tongue and is a champion of all Welsh culture. She is softly spoken and her accent is quite pronounced when she talks in English.

She has only recently moved back to the UK after living for nearly 30 years in New York. She went over in her 20s on a green card marriage which went tits up after about 6 months when her husband, who had been deeply in love with her, realised that she had used him solely to gain admittance to the US. He eventually moved to Florida and Eluned stayed in the big Apple, living in a tiny loft in the Bowery and working at any job that would have her to make rent. She never remarried, and would have stayed in America indefinitely has her father not become terminally ill. She has come home mainly to support her mother in her husband's last days but she finds the UK small and pokey and the accents grate on her ears.

Osian is short with strawberry blonde hair and glasses. He has no interest in fashion and, despite being 19 now, his mum still buys his clothes. His interests include gaming and science. He doesn't like going outside much and would avoid it altogether if possible.
