Whenever I see an Eleanor, I always pronounce it NOR.

We used to have patient with the name and the mother would really pronounce the NOR. She's actually stop and say Elea..NOR.

That was irritating.

I say "elle-a-nore", and the only 1 person I've ever known in real life with the name used to pronounce it the same and would always correct people who said "elle-a-na"!

For me I'd pronounce it 'Ell-a'nore' but my family take issue and say I need to spell it Eleanore otherwise it's pronounced 'El-en-a'

Surely if you were going to pronounce it El-en -a you'd spell it Ellena.
