I'm due a baby in March (so could be born in April though unlikely) can I use the name April. Or is it only for babies born in that month?

OP posts:

Absolutely fine, I love the name. I wanted it for DD but DH vetoed it.
We went with Joy instead.

I think April is a lovely name.

And it's established enough as a name to not be tied to the month. It's not like calling a baby December or March.

A lifetime of being asked if her birthday is in April. I wouldn't

Totally fine, its a beautiful name!

I wouldn't. I have an Aunt June with a birthday in June and assumed that was usual for all 'month names'

Absolutely fine - go for it!

I know several April and Mays, a couple of older Junes and an August. I don't think any of them are born in the month they're named after. I think it would be stranger to name her that if she was born in April.
Lovely name as well.
