Fallen in love with this for baby girl. Have changed my mind weekly though 🙈

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Clara is lovely. Wren is going to be so common in a few years - also wrens are tiny delicate birds. Will it fit her if she's a strapping lass? For the same kind of reason I always think it's a risk with Joy, Faith, Charity, Hope etc Grin

PlinkPlankPlunk · 06/11/2021 15:33

This is the name I’ve always sworn would NEVER have a comeback! See also Doris

@StrychnineInTheSandwiches

What is going on here today!

Enid, Myrtle, and Horace.

I'm crying with laughter 🤣😂

I know, MN is either just having a crazy day today or there are a lot of parents who dislike their poor kids!
Snoopsnoggysnog · 06/11/2021 15:25

I absolutely love Clara, Esther, Lydia and Edith. I don’t like Enid (although love Blyton).

CrackerGal · 06/11/2021 15:22

@Clementineapples

She was Clara for a bit! I like Wren as well Smile
Clara is cute too!
HBomberGal · 06/11/2021 15:10

Oh god it's horrendous.

Teaandcake1820 · 06/11/2021 15:08

What about Lydia? That fits all your requirements.

Viviennemary · 06/11/2021 15:03

Not keen. But I've heard a lot worse. Its just not a very attractive sounding name IMHO.

KristinAmandaThomas · 06/11/2021 15:00

I’m not generally fond of the old lady names for the new generation, but I actually think Enid sounds cool.

CruCru · 06/11/2021 14:59

I love Enid

Might fit your update...
Dora
Ida
Esther
Clara
Mable
Martha

CrackerGal · 06/11/2021 14:44

I'm not too keen on Enid sorry, for other vintage names how about Wren? Or Eadie?

Laloo4 · 06/11/2021 14:44

I know a gorgeous little Enid. I have to say I really don’t like the name though. It’s quite frumpy I think.

How about Astrid or Ingrid?

viques · 06/11/2021 14:38

Pearl, Lorna, Cora, Susan, Mary, Jean, Joan, Marjorie.

nzborn · 06/11/2021 14:37

Love it

Clementineapples · 06/11/2021 14:33

@TempsPerdu what other vintage names do you like?

I want something not that unusual, no unique spellings, nothing too flowery or babyish. Not anything that can be shortened into a nickname I don’t like (like Liz for Elizabeth etc)

moofolk · 06/11/2021 14:31

Love it

Yourstupidityexhaustsme · 06/11/2021 14:26

Of all the old names making a comeback I really can’t get on board with Enid. I looks and sounds very harsh.

What about Edie or Elsie?

That being said it really doesn’t matter what I think - if you like it go for it!

TempsPerdu · 06/11/2021 14:26

Ha I was just thinking the same. Enid is pretty dreadful, and I say that as someone who loves vintage names and has a DD whose name is always deemed ‘harsh-sounding’!

Clementineapples · 06/11/2021 14:26

@StrychnineInTheSandwiches I’ll hold you to that!

@Clementineapples

Not particularly looking for old lady names, just trying to find a name, any name that will stick 🤣
Text me when she's born and I'll pick something lovely for her.

No charge.

Cbeebiesrehab · 06/11/2021 14:25

I think it’s beautiful. Easy to pronounce, easy to spell, fits in with current trends but isn’t too popular. I love it.
