I’m currently pregnant with a girl due March so I am running through name ideas!
My picks are Briar, Freya, Gabrielle and Mila.
Middle name will be Lois.
She will have a big brother who is Noah Smile

I thought Briar was a boy's name. Otherwise they are all nice names :) Mila is quite russian in my opinion, but I know it is used everywhere nowadays

halloweenie13 · 09/11/2021 06:55

Depending on the last name either Gabrielle or Freya

Timeforwinterclothes · 09/11/2021 06:50

Definitely not Briar. I know one and she hates it. Gabrielle has a lovely short name -Gabbie. Freya is dull and the horse's name is a no.

Starryskiesinthesky · 09/11/2021 06:22

Freya with a half sibling Taya isn’t good.

Briar or Gabrielle are best to me.

GoodnightGrandma · 09/11/2021 06:18

Gabrielle

wheresthehope · 09/11/2021 06:17

I don’t like Lois as a first name but kinda leaning to Briar Lois as her name. Think my partner is liking Freya Lois

Mila is my favourite. Cute but not weird, and not popular

MerryChristmasToYou · 08/11/2021 18:52

Briar.

Freya is nice but so popular
Gabrielle is nice but seems a 1970s name
I don't like Mila

Lois is nice

Lois Briar is lovely

DotDotDotDotDot · 06/11/2021 19:34

If Freya is less popular in NZ than in the UK I’d choose that, it is a lovely name. Otherwise Lois is my favourite from your list, could it be in the first name?

Chunkymenrock · 06/11/2021 19:28

Briar is gorgeous and I also love Bryony. Mila reminds me of milia spots and I strongly dislike any 'mealy' sounds- I just hear 'mealer' with that name.

Skyla2005 · 06/11/2021 19:16

Noah and Freya go lovely together as brother and sister. Freya is gorgeous

junebirthdaygirl · 06/11/2021 16:54

Noah and Lois would be so lovely together. Same length, o in same place , two bible names..
But Gabrielle is lovely too

cowburp · 06/11/2021 16:22

Freya.

Hate Briar.

CatonMat · 06/11/2021 02:24

I like Lois best.

JessyCarr · 06/11/2021 02:22

I like Gabrielle - lovely choice.

LizzieAnt · 06/11/2021 00:45

My partner also has a daughter called taya so the ‘A’ endings could all be a little much?

Yes, I do think they might be too much...I don't think I'd pick Freya at any rate. Mila has the 'a' ending too, but not the 'y' at least. Not sure about Briar as it depends on accents - theres a definite 'r' ending in my accent, but I know that's not the same for all.

I think I'd go for Gabrielle Smile

wheresthehope · 05/11/2021 23:51

Thanks for the feedback!
I’m in New Zealand so mayb briar is slightly more common over here although it’s not one I know to many of.
I Don’t know a single Freya or Mila here but did have a racehorse called Mila and I liked it from that!
Gabrielle has been a favourite since I was younger.
Freya I seen on the top 1000 girl name list!
My partner also has a daughter called taya so the ‘A’ endings could all be a little much?

I think the endings of Freya and Briar are too rhyme-y with Noah. Also I really don’t like Freya at all and agree about the not great connotations with Briar.

I really like Mila and Gabrielle. They go great with Noah

MissMatty2hats · 05/11/2021 22:08

@LizzieAnt that’s what I was thinking. I’ve called all my children briars at some point. Cranky little fuckers they were!

AdaColeman · 05/11/2021 22:02

Gabrielle or Freya.

Definitely not Briar or Mila.

Kite22 · 05/11/2021 21:59

Gabrielle is best from those 4
Then Freya.

Not Mila and definitely not Briar

user1493494961 · 05/11/2021 21:33

Gabrielle is lovely, Freya nice, Mila a bit bland and Briar is just odd.

NigellaSeedofChucky · 05/11/2021 21:12

Freya - I'm sorry - but I really dislike and it's quite popular so I just don't get it. Briar - don't know how to pronounce, bry-uh? Don't like.

Mila is my fave (mee- la), Gabrielle is v nice too.

LizzieAnt · 05/11/2021 20:01

Freya and Gabrielle are very nice.

I'm not a huge fan of Mila simply because I'm not used to it as a name and so it tends to remind me of milia (the little spots newborns get). That's just because it's unfamiliar though.

I've never heard Briar used as a name. I'm in Ireland and it's used here to describe someone being bad-tempered...'he's like a briar' means he's in a very bad mood, lashing out. I've often described my children like this when they're particularly tired and cranky!

Riverlee · 05/11/2021 19:58

Gabrielle, or use Lois as first name
