And get ready for the onslaught of people who claim to be teachers who can pre-identify the 'naughty boys' based on their (curiously often Irish) names.

While Irish girls' names are viewed as mellifluous and at any rate as not indicating anything about the behaviour or character of the child.

Please don’t use the Connor spelling as suggested by an English pp. It gives me the eyeball twitch as it reads as a surname.

I’m actually Welsh not English and that’s the only way I’ve ever seen it spelt here (although admittedly not a very common name), I would read ‘Conor’ as ‘Cone-Or’ to rhyme with so doesn’t look right to my eyes bur appreciate if the OP is Irish she may prefer that spelling.
