Conor with one n definitely. Looks so wrong with nn.

Elisemum · 05/11/2021 17:01

All 3 are lovely names. I like Conor and Ryan best but all 3 are very nice. It’s refreshing to see someone that has 3 normal names on her list in a sea of try hard names.

UsernameIsHarderThanBabyName · 05/11/2021 14:39

Samuel ❤️

pilates · 05/11/2021 07:06

Samuel, dislike the other two

MindyStClaire · 05/11/2021 04:07

Yes in Ireland Conor is one of those timeless names, like James or Elizabeth in the UK. I really like it.

I like Samuel but prefer Sam (unusually as I generally prefer the longer name).

I don't like Ryan, it's a surname to me.

resm · 05/11/2021 02:23

Conor, a few in my son’s primary school and his wee Gaelic team (under 4s) so not at all dated.

Linnet · 05/11/2021 00:53

Samuel, Conor,Ryan

WithANameLikeDaniCalifornia · 05/11/2021 00:47

They’re all very 90s. There was multiples of each of these at my school.
Sorry, I don’t like any of them but Samuel is probably the best.

HBomberGal · 05/11/2021 00:12

@alexdgr8

samuel. a good classic ageless name. the others are surnames, and will date badly.
The cultural ignorance on display here, I'm creased at it Grin
HBomberGal · 05/11/2021 00:07

Conor is the best of the bunch. Definitely don't spell with two ns, leave that to the Yanks.

Samuel is fine but I can't abide Sammy.

Ryan is very blah.

Onlinedilema · 04/11/2021 23:58

Samuel.

I don't think Ryan is new at all. Ryan O'Neal isn't young.
I know of many adult Ryans.

Anoisagusaris · 04/11/2021 23:52

Conor is a great name when spelt correctly, it means Lover of Hounds.

I love Sam (not overly popular in Ireland).

Don’t like Ryan - it’s a relatively new name here (obviously just as a first name) and it’s a bit common/rough imo.

Edenember · 04/11/2021 23:45

Samuel by a mile.

Bonnealle · 04/11/2021 23:17

Haha, I know someone whose surname is Samuel so have no idea what the pp is talking about!! I’m not Irish, but I’ve never seen Conor spelt with two ‘n’s? One of my best friends is called Conor, so maybe I’m biased as that’s my preference! I think Samuel is a bit too popular at present, and Ryan still has a child of the 80s vibe.

MumofSpud · 04/11/2021 23:11

I agree with preferring Connor with 2ns - sorry!
Ryan is a naughty boy - but not as naughty as Jayden / Riley - more cheeky like Connor / Alfie / Callum
Samuel is a naice boy - like Matthew

Clementineapples · 04/11/2021 23:11

For me Ryan always sounded like an old man name but there seems to be a bit of a thing at the moment. I know several age 9-11 and a few babies. All the older ones are very naughty and ds friend is really nasty. To be fair though, ds has a ‘naughty’ name apparently lol

Spidey66 · 04/11/2021 23:07

Conor (Londoner but 2nd generation Irish)
Samuel
Ryan

ZenNudist · 04/11/2021 23:06

Samuel

Not conor. Hate ryan.

Verfremdungseffekt · 04/11/2021 23:06

@NotAnotherPylon

Conor isn't a surname. It's a first name of Irish origin.
And an old classic. Lots of medieval high kings called Conaire in the annals.
NotAnotherPylon · 04/11/2021 23:05

That was to alexdgr8.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 04/11/2021 22:25

Samuel. Feels the most timeless/classic to me if you are in England/Wales/Scotland (and Sam is such a friendly name imo). Since Conor and Ryan have Irish roots, they might feel more classic if you live in Ireland/N. Ireland but I'm personally not as keen on the sound of them.

TatianaBis · 04/11/2021 15:31

Conor

Ryan is dated and Samuel (Sam) is just dull.

ZingDramaQueenOfSheeba · 04/11/2021 15:26

@FinallyMrsE

🤣
my oldest 2 are Joshua and Samuel.
I've met brothers in that order, opposite order, twins and a friend name her son Joshua Samuel🤣

Another combo I used to notice was Oscar & Henry.
I guess some names just have a matching vibe or something
