I have a boy due in the next couple of days and Chester is on my list to name him. Bradley is the middle name the surname is Webb. Does the name flow well? What are your thoughts?

Chester is a dogs name. 🐕
Bradley is OK.....not to my taste but not awful.

SpottyStripyDuvet · 30/10/2021 19:20

I like it but Chester was the 84th most popular name for boys in England and Wales last year so hardly unique.

Stevearnottsbeard · 30/10/2021 19:15

Chester is beautiful, I love it-the city that is, I really really don't like it as a name sorry. I agree it sounds like some sort of company sorry

Abracadabra12345 · 30/10/2021 17:12

I love Chester Bradley with Webb. Give him what name you love and take no notice of randomisers on the Internet! It’s a good, sturdy name and a bit different without sounding weird

ChrissyPlummer · 30/10/2021 17:08

Also know a canine Chester!

RAFHercules · 30/10/2021 00:34

It really does sound like a Facebook group.

angstinabaggyjumper · 29/10/2021 08:57

Yes, a middle aged man in a loud checked suit and Chesty for short. Chesty Webb.

BeepBoopBop · 29/10/2021 08:39

It's a dogs name for posh dogs. My bulldog arrived as a Buster, so I renamed him Chester. Years afterwards my friend had a gorgeous boy, she called him Chester too. He was a golden retriever.

SW1amp · 29/10/2021 08:25

I know 2 Chesters
They are both dogs

Sorry, it’s the name of either a loud American or spaniel

needtoseperate · 29/10/2021 08:21

I love it 👏🏽

WitchsFamiliarWhichIsFamiliar · 29/10/2021 08:19

So sorry, but I don't like it. It sounds to me, a little bit like a comical character in a children's book.

I do know a little Chester, who is 7 or 8 now. It sounds lovely in an American or Irish accent but horrid to me in the London accent (ChesTAH). So maybe depends on where you live? I used to live in Bath as well and can imaging it being Chesturrrrr there, which I'm also not keen on.

MerryChristmasToYou · 29/10/2021 08:16

It sounds like an internet forum for the residents of a city in the North-West

KaycePollard · 29/10/2021 07:57

Sounds like a fat American with a loud voice.

BeKindBeYou · 29/10/2021 07:57

I really like it. Chester Bradley James. Strong!

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 29/10/2021 07:53

All i can hear is the mumsnet typo "chester drawers"

Objectively Chester is a pronouncable & inoffensive (if not amercian type) name

And Chester Webb sounds pretty good to my ear so if you love it for it!

The bradley is a bit much though i'd go for john or james or something

bogeythefungusman · 29/10/2021 07:46

Lethimhaveit - initials........

LetHimHaveIt · 29/10/2021 07:45

Scratch that. I finally got it. I thought you were linking cobwebs to Sundays in general, not this particular Sunday.

Kanaloa · 29/10/2021 07:45

@LetHimHaveIt

Cobweb? It’s halloween day on Sunday!

LetHimHaveIt · 29/10/2021 07:44

@BaggingAria

Chester Oliver Bradley Webb would be better if he arrives on Sunday.
Try as I might, I don't get this.
GoodnightGrandma · 29/10/2021 07:24

Prefer Bradley.

Roselilly36 · 29/10/2021 07:23

I like the name Chester, good choice.

Kanaloa · 29/10/2021 06:08

I mean his name will really just be Chester Webb, won’t it? I think that sounds absolutely fine. Yes, it’s a bit much with the middle name but middle names aren’t used in daily conversations. I don’t know the middle names of any of my colleagues, and don’t know most of my friends either.

BurnedToast · 29/10/2021 06:07

I like it.

daisypond · 29/10/2021 06:04

I’m not keen. It does sound like a firm of dodgy estate agents. I’m not keen on Chester, though, so that puts me off.

miamiibiza · 29/10/2021 04:15

I love Chester
