This has been quite an ordeal for us, but we have it down to 2...

Felix or Hector

Which would you pick and why?

Thanks!

Felix

MerryMarigold · 23/10/2021 17:35

@Aquamarine1029

I would be going back to the drawing board, sorry. Hector is awful and Felix is an animal's name.
So helpful! OP likes these names and has spent a long time narrowing it down. My son has a friend called Hector and one called Felix. They are not weird names at all, just maybe not to your taste!
Hummingbirdcake · 23/10/2021 16:56

Felix.

GoodnightGrandma · 23/10/2021 16:54

Neither.

DramaAlpaca · 23/10/2021 16:54

I don't particularly like Felix but it's so much better than Hector. Hector used as a verb is really unpleasant.

SummerLew · 23/10/2021 15:55

How funny, my 8 year old son is called Hector Felix. Both brilliant names!
He's always Hector to me and everyone else, but his dad sometimes calls him Hecky.

Felix

notangelinajolie · 23/10/2021 14:55

For everyone saying Felix is a cat ... I'm showing my age here but Hector is a dog Smile

However, I love, love, love the name Hector. Chose Hector OP - it's a very cool name.

Onlinedilema · 23/10/2021 14:47

I don't know any one called Felix or Hector.
I would go with Hector because I loved Hector's house as a child.

@Diggersandloaders

We've really struggled with boy names.. Feel free to say what your top one is/would be (especially if you're saying neither of these is your cup of tea)

Thanks :)

I like older classics

Mark
Luke
David

Sort of thing

AliceinBorderland · 23/10/2021 14:42

Hector. It is different. There aren't many.

Felixstowe , Felix the cat food. Don't like the sound feel. Sounds like feel it.

Neither - Felix is a cat’s/cat’s food name and Hector is up there with Cyril and Dennis in unattractiveness (as well as being a verb you wouldn’t want your child to be associated with).

Felix - at an absolute push.

NCkitchen · 23/10/2021 14:25

Definitely not Felix (cat)

Not a fan of Hector either but I dislike this one less

Bin85 · 23/10/2021 14:23

Hector is the dog in Hector's House children's programme.
Felix is better I taught a lovely one.

Shortandsweet20 · 23/10/2021 11:47

Not a massive fan of either but probably felix over hector. I know 7 dogs and 1 tortoise all named hector 😂 lovely name but I just see it as a animal name

MaggieFS · 23/10/2021 11:30

Hector.

You asked why.... I wouldn't choose either but Felix is cat food. Hector is a good strong name.

WinterCarlisle · 23/10/2021 11:20

Felix. It sounds sooooo much nicer than Hector (imo).

Hector is cold and hector as a verb means to browbeat or bully

User310 · 23/10/2021 11:18

Hector.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/10/2021 11:10

Tor is a lovely nn.

The Felix we know is Feelie which I don’t like at all.

hopingforabrighterfuture2021 · 23/10/2021 11:06

Hector

PanicBuyingSprouts · 23/10/2021 09:33

I think I prefer Felix Smile

Bartlebe · 23/10/2021 09:09

Hector!

Adventing · 23/10/2021 09:03

Felix, I like the meaning. I've met a cute little Hector too though
