Heard this name on SJ Strum's podcast today and absolutely loved it. What do you guys think of Hera? May have issues with pronunciation but I think it's said Hee-rah. Love!

I like it and would know how to pronounce it - learnt about Greek gods in primary school.

FartnissEverbeans · 18/10/2021 16:42

I’d say Herra. I love it. I don’t like He-ra as much but I teach a few girls named Hira

juliainthedeepwater · 18/10/2021 11:23

I think it's beautiful - but definitely 'here-rah' not 'hee-rah'

WyncyG · 18/10/2021 11:18

Really like it, but it's a brand that sticks it's name in bold on plain hoodies which I see a lot on the younger generation, so to them it might be like a baby called GAP or Hollister! I know nothing about the brand though, maybe it's just my SIL and her friends.

Anyone who works in construction will instantly think of hera fencing.

KirstenBlest · 18/10/2021 10:28

Hera is Hee-rah.

Here is Hee-uh

cecemalone · 18/10/2021 10:25

Thanks all, I love it. Added to my long list :)

It's like a mix of He-man and Shera!

QueenDanu · 18/10/2021 07:37

Prefer hero

Cam2020 · 18/10/2021 07:33

Love Hera, hate Juno! Also love Athena!

Chachachawoo · 18/10/2021 07:27

I love it.
Mylene Class has a Hero. I prefer Hera for a girl

AuntDympna · 17/10/2021 23:00

As I have to call out names and also the word "here" a great deal... Would get mixed up.

danascully96 · 17/10/2021 22:29

Love it! Also love Athena 🥰

legalseagull · 17/10/2021 21:50

Love it. I'd say "here-ah" like hero

cecemalone · 17/10/2021 21:44

@ZoyaTheDestroyer I think some could say Herra

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 17/10/2021 21:32

It rhymes with ‘era’. How else would you say it?

I have to say I prefer Juno.

M0rT · 17/10/2021 21:26

I love it, I know it's a Greek goddess as I took classical studies in school.
But my strongest association is the Disney film so I don't think you'll have much trouble with pronunciation as Disney is not exactly niche Grin

OtterAndDog · 17/10/2021 21:21

I like it but also think it’s a bit manly though I can’t really articulate why Confused

tofuschnitzel · 17/10/2021 21:20

I love it! It was on my list for my twins, but my husband and I disagreed on using it.

JayAlfredPrufrock · 17/10/2021 21:19

Love it.

Lanique · 17/10/2021 21:18

I really like it.

MistandMud · 17/10/2021 21:16

I like it. We know a lovely one in her late teens, but I've never met another (though we do know a Hero).

Thepennysjustdropped · 17/10/2021 21:15

Love it.

NauseousNancy · 17/10/2021 21:12

I like it. It would make me think you were a star wars fan though.

Kite22 · 17/10/2021 21:10

I think you will. Not everyone is a Greek scholar.

I for one, would be very hesitant reading it outloud from a list, and would need to ask the owner of the name.
