Predictions for 2021 perhaps @ZoyaTheDestroyer, based on the names that come up on here. It was in reply to a pp, which wasn't obvious

I missed out surnames as first names - Hunter, Harper, Piper, Cooper, Casey, Riley....

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 21/10/2021 09:19

@35andThriving

If you combine the spellings Juliet and Juliette does that change the popularity much?
Juliet - #771, 47 babies Juliette - slightly more popular at #700, 53 babies

Combined count of 100 babies would put it around #426, alongside Aayat, Freyja, Iqra, and Lily-Mae.

@CaffiSaliMali Juliet’s on my list for DC due in May and I agree I was surprised by how low it was. My only hesitation is that I’m not a huge fan of Julie as a nickname as it feels slightly dated, maybe that’s holding people back?

Was certainly surprised it was lower than a couple of our more ‘out there’ choices (Genevieve, Tabitha)

CaffiSaliMali · 21/10/2021 08:25

I was surprised by Juliet falling in E&W - it's quite popular on here.

In 2019 Juliet was ranked at 590 and it's now fallen to 777 in 2020.

Juliette has risen slightly from 724 in 2019 to 704 in 2020.

Juliet is my top choice for a girl on my non-Welsh list but I thought it would start to rise based on how often it gets mentioned on these boards!

Onlinedilema · 21/10/2021 06:13

Isn't Roman a mners favourite? A long with Rowan. It's always suggested in here.
I'm surprised there aren't more names beginning with A. I think 'unique' spellings helps to distort the true picture sonewhat. So same name just a unique spelling makes it appear less popular. I thought Harper would be higher and Jaxs/Jaxon too.

MooseBreath · 21/10/2021 00:20

Interesting! DS born in 2020 is one of three born with his name.

RandomCatGenerator · 20/10/2021 17:52

Never mind - found! names.darkgreener.com/

RandomCatGenerator · 20/10/2021 17:49

I’m being a bit dim: how do I see the info for a name that wasn’t in the top 100?

bloominglovelyorange · 19/10/2021 23:15

@BeKindBeYou same!

BeKindBeYou · 19/10/2021 22:38

Been analysing these lists for days now - so interesting!

popcorndiva · 18/10/2021 21:35

It's table 6 on the spreadsheet

omfgimgettingmarried · 18/10/2021 21:26

Can anyone please link to the stats showing the full dataset for girls? Thank you!

popcorndiva · 18/10/2021 21:22

@Hamnet

Ugh, can’t view the full name sets on my phone. Can anyone look up Nina for me to see where it ranks now?
Nina is at no.145. In between Nova and Paisley!

Silversun83 · 18/10/2021 20:39

@Blubells

Indeed but like a previous poster and myself have said over multiple years those 5000 odd children soon add up and therefore it's surprising when you don't come across any at all.

Even baby names that are used 25 times per year add up and you run into others occasionally.

It also adds up over the years.

Yep, my DD's name in recent years has fluctuated between about 25 and 80 per year. There's one in her little brother's nursery room (which really really confused him to start with Grin) and another who left her school the year she joined!
SueyF · 18/10/2021 19:18

I actually cannot believe the rise in Archie. I have not heard of a single one since Harry and Meghan. I thought they put everyone off it

KirstenBlest · 18/10/2021 13:56

IRL I know some who named their DS Noah thinking it might be a bit out there and were surprised when their DS went to nursery/reception

bloominglovelyorange · 18/10/2021 13:39

@KirstenBlest @Classica
There's a famous YouTuber called Roman apparently and a few TOWIE cast members that have big Insta accounts have called their sons Roman.
Other than that I suppose Roman has just 'done an Arlo' and exploded. Everyone's picked the name for their babies at the same time - potentially thinking 'it's a bit different' but actually it's now top 30
