Would you say Tah-lee-uh or tar-lee-uh?

I would imagine in the south it would be tar-lee-uh and in the midlands/North Ta-lee-ah

Missmissmiiiiiiiiisss · 06/10/2021 20:55

Tar-lee-uh

Nap1983 · 06/10/2021 20:54

There’s no R it’s Ta- lee- ah

leakymcleakleak · 06/10/2021 20:53

As someone with a rhotic accent the 'rs' are upsetting my brain! I would say ta (like 'ta for the cuppa) lee a. Honestly, even knowing that non-rhotic speakers put 'r's in when trying to signify a long vowel, I still don't 'hear' the differences in those pronunciations. They both have long vowels.
