Charlie and Oscar - thoughts?

I like the names but does it make you think of the phonetic alphabet c for charlie, Oscar bravo etc.. don't want jokes of will we name the next one romeo! Am I over thinking it or does it make you think of this?

It does remind me of the phonetic alphabet but not in a bad way - more so if they were used together as a first and middle name but not if they were separate names for different children. They both are such lovely names!

Straight away I though Foxtrot and started humming the theme tune of from The Bill. I do like the names though.

It did make me think that but unless your surname is also in the phonetic alphabet, you go on to have a Juliet or you are fans of shouting Bravo when they do something notable I don't think it matters.

I think people would maybe make a joke but get over it. Use the names if you like them.

Charlie or Oscar on their own wouldn’t make me think ‘phonetic alphabet’, but if a family had both, I might fleetingly wonder whether, if the next one was a girl, they might call her India!

Didn't make me think of it. But I do think the names have different vibes too.
If Charlie is the one your trying to name you could give him the more formal Charles.

Fairly classic names! I think there's definitely always going to be people who'll make the phonic alphabet connection, however, most people I know can't remember the phonic alphabet and will say "B for Bingo", "C for cheese" and so on Grin so I doubt it'll be that much of a thing in real life.
