I like the names but does it make you think of the phonetic alphabet c for charlie, Oscar bravo etc.. don't want jokes of will we name the next one romeo! Am I over thinking it or does it make you think of this?

Juliet for their sister

TheGrumpyGoat · 06/10/2021 13:25

Yes, it was my first thought when I read the title and knew that was what your thread would be about.
It doesn’t really matter though… it’s only a fleeting thought and it’s not a negative connotation. They’re nice names.

Darceyhemingway · 06/10/2021 13:23

I don't think so. I think they go well together

emmathedilemma · 06/10/2021 11:15

I wouldn't have made the connection but then I never really use the phonetic alphabet. I thought they were nice names that go well together!

Fl0w3ry · 06/10/2021 08:35

I also made the connection and thought I wonder if her 3rd will be Romeo.
At the same time though, they are just names. People often choose similar names for their DC or names with a theme. It's no different to that really.

Blubells · 06/10/2021 08:26

I too made the connection, regardless of your title

CeeceeBloomingdale · 06/10/2021 08:25

It was my first thought but then I use the phonetic alphabet at work

Dreamsupreme · 06/10/2021 08:23

No didn’t make the connection

NigellaSeed · 04/10/2021 19:56

I use the phonetic alphabet constantly for work, and I didn't think of it from your title

IWantT0BreakFree · 04/10/2021 19:51

Yes I immediately thought of the phonetic alphabet when I read your title before opening the thread - sorry OP!

PlainJane1000 · 04/10/2021 19:45

It was my first thought when I saw the title of your thread, sorry! Judging by the responses I think you will get a foxtrot joke 50% of the time.

DukeofEarlGrey · 03/10/2021 21:25

Ha! I didn’t think it until I read your post and then it made me laugh, but I don’t think it’s a big deal or should stop you from using two nice names! I hope you and your partner are Juliet and Mike 😆

CharlieBoo · 03/10/2021 20:57

No didn’t make the connection at all x

toolazytothinkofausername · 03/10/2021 20:24

No. But I am having a slow day.

mondler · 03/10/2021 20:15

If it helps I know two siblings sets that have Charlie and Oscar as brothers so it didnt bother those parents! Its noticeable but doesnt sound silly to me.

BlueberrySugar · 03/10/2021 20:13

Nope. Didn't even spring to mind.

Blubells · 03/10/2021 20:03

I also made the connection straight away! They're so widely used to describe O and C!

tiredanddangerous · 03/10/2021 20:03

Yes that was my first thought before I opened the thread

user1493494961 · 03/10/2021 19:51

I made the connection straight away.

Holly60 · 03/10/2021 18:31

No it’s fine. It might occur to me at some point but I wouldn’t think it was a bad thing. I quite like it actually. Very neat and they kind of ‘go’ nicely. It annoys me more when sibling names are wildly different in feel, for example ‘Kayne and Hugo’

Doublechins · 03/10/2021 18:09

I used the phonetic alphabet daily for my job and it never Occurred to me. I actually nearly had a Charlie and an Oscar but we changed our mind and went for Oliver instead of oscar.

MadeOfStarStuff · 03/10/2021 18:05

I’m familiar with the phonetic alphabet but it didn’t occur to me until you said it, my first thought was they go well together, both nice classic names

TakeYourFinalPosition · 03/10/2021 10:33

No. And I suspect most people wouldn’t make the connection, given how many people come up with random words for C and O on work calls!

But you’ll get biased answers here because you’ve told people the link before you posted Smile

MilduraS · 03/10/2021 10:19

I wouldn't think of it but then I'm useless with that alphabet. I've caught myself writing the full words "Charlie foxtrot" when someone tries to use it on the phone Blush

Quartz2208 · 03/10/2021 09:41

I have one who is best friends with the other and it has never been brought up.

He did find it funny though when I used the phonetic alphabet with track and trace and said them both
