Hi there,

Looking for some suggestions. My husband & I are struggling this time. We both have names we love but nothing we can mutually agree on. Would love some inspiration.

Thanks

@leavesthataregreen I quite like Anais but it often gets pronounced wrong in English.

Persephone
Echo

I also think Madeleine works best with your names

I wouldn’t have another “G” name, and Genevieve is very different pronunciation in English and French

Declutterclogs · 02/10/2021 16:04

Delphine is also lovely!

Declutterclogs · 02/10/2021 16:03

I came on to say Josephine like a few PPs. I also love Madeleine with your names.

@Standrewsschool Juliette is my husbands favourite name for a girl but I have a friend with the name.

@MerryMarigold I was hoping for for French suggestions. Genevieve is one of my personal favourites but I have a thing about siblings sharing initials lol.

@Pemba My husband likes Sylvie but I associate it with a family friend that is very old. We’re in England by the way but my mother’s family are french speaking, hence the french names.

Miranda.

(Yes, I know it's not French but it was the first thing off my tongue when I read the other names!)

randomuseragain · 02/10/2021 15:40

Daphne?

Cecily

Pemba · 02/10/2021 15:39

Jessamine is very pretty, is it currently used in France?

I would have said Heloise (which is pronounced the same as Eloise I think), but it's too close to Elodie.

Lucie
Estelle

Also love pp's suggestion of Madeleine.

How about a hyphenated name like Marie-Claire, or are they considered old fashioned in France now?

Apologies for lack of accents in my typing, I don't know how to put them in.

Standrewsschool · 02/10/2021 15:39

Meredith was my first thought.

Other names:
Juliette
Rosamund
Felicity
Hester
