Otis, Frank or Ziggy baby coming in 3 days

Hi all, I posted on here a week ago about the names Rudy and Sidney, we were all set for Rudy, but long story short, DH has totally gone off Rudy Confused! I could tell he wasn't totally onboard with it.

Anyway he's suggested Otis ( I think this has come after watching sex education on Netflix) frank and ziggy which were names we originally had in the hat.

Baby coming in 3 days and I'm losing the will to live with coming up with a suitable boys name.

Any comments and help appreciated thanx X

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Otis for sure. Please don't call a baby Frank.

ladycarlotta · 01/10/2021 15:28

Sorry, I really dislike Ziggy, even speaking as a Bowie fan. Unless you're going to go the whole hog and actually name the child Sigmund: then I'd at least admire your balls.

Frank gets my vote but that's because I know quite a lot of little Otises and only one little Frank. They're both sweet names. Wait and see how he looks when he's born.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 01/10/2021 15:27

You may even take one look at him and decide he's a Rudy after all Grin

Zippy1510 · 01/10/2021 15:26

I like Otis and also Otto. Frank and Frankie. Not ziggy.

I automatically think of Otis reading when I hear the name, which is a wonderful association !

I think Ziggy is too out there for us, so off the list ! I just like to throw in a bit of a wildcard ! Grin

I think Frank is a great name.

Pennylane87 · 01/10/2021 15:22

@Ihopeyourcakeisshit

As long as Ziggy is off the list why don't you narrow it down to your fave 3 and wait until you see him? I think you'll just know!
I think that sounds very sensible Indeed ! X

@DurhamDurham

Well as a life long Bowie fan I'd go with Ziggy. I've two girls so I don't have a Ziggy but I'd have done my best to convince my husband if one of them had been a boy. Ziggy or Bowie would have been great.
I note that David Bowie's son who was referred to as Zowie through his childhood is now solidly Duncan Jones. A great example of why parents' creativity probably shouldn't be expressed through their children's names. Even Bowie made his legal name sensible.

Otis has a wonderful musician as well. Otis Redding. I don't think I've met anyone who doesn't like his music.

Peppapigforlife · 01/10/2021 15:19

Frrraaaaank, Paaaaaaat.

Probably Otis?

Pennylane87 · 01/10/2021 15:17

@someonesomewhere7

Definitely not Ziggy. Cute for a baby, ok for a kid, definitely not suitable for a 30 something professional one day.
Yeh I totally get that ! X

@yefferson

Otis - or Francis could be a compromise between Frank and Otis?
Not a fan of Francis unfortunately ! X

Otis gets my vote. I know several dogs called Ziggy! Frank is a bit twee for my liking. Otis is old but new, I like it! Xo

bogeythefungusman · 01/10/2021 15:12

Perhaps not Ziggy, but all the others are great.

someonesomewhere7 · 01/10/2021 15:12

Pennylane87 · 01/10/2021 15:12

Ziggy is off the list ! It was my least favourite anyway....

I love an unusual name, I do think Ziggy might be a bit too much of a wildcard though tbh.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/10/2021 15:10

Not Ziggy.

Pennylane87 · 01/10/2021 15:09

Sorry that was aimed at Ziggy !

Pennylane87 · 01/10/2021 15:08
