Otis, Frank or Ziggy baby coming in 3 days

Hi all, I posted on here a week ago about the names Rudy and Sidney, we were all set for Rudy, but long story short, DH has totally gone off Rudy Confused! I could tell he wasn't totally onboard with it.

Anyway he's suggested Otis ( I think this has come after watching sex education on Netflix) frank and ziggy which were names we originally had in the hat.

Baby coming in 3 days and I'm losing the will to live with coming up with a suitable boys name.

Any comments and help appreciated thanx X

OP, you obviously have a preference for the short and quirky as far as names go. Trouble is, a lot of those names are a bit marmite.

Have you considered a longer more well known name which you can give a quirky nickname for? If he gets older and doesn't like the quirky nickname he can then exchange for a different shortening, or use the full name. For example name him Alexander, to be known as Xander, when he is older he could change to Alex or the full Alexander, if he wishes. That's just an example.

I actually like Ziggy. One of Bob Marley's sons is called Ziggy, and you can't get much cooler than having Bob and Rita Marley as your parents. My preference is Otis, Ziggy and Rudy, in that order.
True, but I think the chance of the OP and her OH being Rita and Bob Marley is infinitesimal. RIP Bob. No offence OP, I am sure you are cool, but not quite as cool as Bob and Rita........

Frank is a great name, I love it, and I’m very fond of Otis too, it would be my second choice from your name options.
Ziggy is a bit naff, and River I like, but I feel like it might be a bit tricky to ‘carry off’ if that makes sense?

No advice but one of DC's best friends at nursery is named Ziggy Smile.

'Ziggy played guitar.' Hmm. That is a bit out there really. Why not Zachary, Zachariah or Ezekiel if you like the 'z' sound?

To be honest I prefer any of those to Otis or Frank. Well Otis is OK I suppose, but I think of a cuddly aarvard creature on CBBC in the 90s Similar to Roland Rat, but less annoying, DD had a replica toy. Of course there have been lots of other Otises, mainly in the music business I believe.

We've narrowed it down to Otis River and Rudy Jack...gonna wait to see what suits him best Smile DH might feel differently about Rudy when he meets him , but Otis is definitely winning at the moment !!

Otis is lovely.
Frank is nice too but I know an awful lot.
I really don't like Ziggy at all.
I prefer Rudy to Sidney but Otis is much better than either of them.

Otis is cute and popular for a reason. My boy due in a few days too and would be a contender if wasn't a close friends baby.

Ziggy is a cool middle name! OZ good initials

Frank or Otis would be my choice. Wouldn’t consider Ziggy.

Ziggy (I might be biased as that's my mum's brother's name,the sweetest gentleman I ever knew and my cat's name Grin )
Maybe a different form of Frank as it always makes me think of ''Talk to Frank'' website for addicts .

I agree with the pp who said Frank is an ugly name, it really is. As for Ziggy - just no.

Sorry, I really dislike Ziggy, even speaking as a Bowie fan. Unless you're going to go the whole hog and actually name the child Sigmund: then I'd at least admire your balls.

Frank gets my vote but that's because I know quite a lot of little Otises and only one little Frank. They're both sweet names. Wait and see how he looks when he's born.

I'm not entirely sure why we threw Ziggy back into the hat... Panic most likely !

Gonna take the advice and see what he looks like. We have always been set on a name before baby arrives for his sisters, so this is a new concept for me !
