Otis, Frank or Ziggy baby coming in 3 days

Hi all, I posted on here a week ago about the names Rudy and Sidney, we were all set for Rudy, but long story short, DH has totally gone off Rudy Confused! I could tell he wasn't totally onboard with it.

Anyway he's suggested Otis ( I think this has come after watching sex education on Netflix) frank and ziggy which were names we originally had in the hat.

Baby coming in 3 days and I'm losing the will to live with coming up with a suitable boys name.

Any comments and help appreciated thanx X

You may even take one look at him and decide he's a Rudy after all Grin
It took a week, but we have decided he is a Rudy ! X

Ziggy makes me think of Ziggy Stardust, Ziggy Marley and Ziggy off Grange Hill. I really like Ziggy Marley’s music.

Otis, makes me thing Otis Reading, I like it.

Love Frank too, definitely needs a revival.

Out of interest *@Pennylane87* did the release of the official baby name statistics sway you to use Otis as a middle name rather than first (given its jump in popularity)

Rudy Otis is lovely by the way

Interesting you ask ! I had already encountered 3 other baby otis' before the list was released, so I think a combo of the two probably planted a bit of a seed yes !

Ultimately it was down to my gut feeling, but I'm kinda glad we've switched to something less popular ! X

I’ve always really liked the name Frank. Otis is a bit of the moment for me with Sex Education. I like Rudy and don’t mind Ziggy (perhaps with a more average second name). There used to be a girl called Ziggy at my college and it was fine - gave a bit of character. I like Frank the best though.

Ziggy is awful. Frank is the name of an old man. Otis - isn’t that sitting on the dock of the bay? Probably the best of a pretty bad bunch, sorry OP.

Really hate Frank, plus it's been inexplicably popular and will probably start sounding a bit naff and overdone at some point. I'd go for Otis. Prefer Rufus to Rudy. What about Bruno?

An update if anyone is interested......
So after a few weeks of getting to know him it turns out he's more of a Rudy Otis rather than an Otis Rudy.🤣
Rudy being the name we had decided on until DH got cold feet a couple of days before he was due to arrive !

If anyone is second guessing the name they picked and it's still early days, don't be afraid to switch it! I had a week of thinking I wasn't bonding with him and he just felt more like Rudy to me, since we have changed it I feel much happier and DH loves it too.

Funny how things work out sometimes x

I love Otis but it ended up being a toss up between that and Dexter and he was named Dexter as it goes better with middle name and surname. So - we got a beautiful dog and named him Otis and 10years later I still love it. Dex is 16 and loves his babe too so it's cool. Good luck and enjoy your baby. Otis, definitely Otis (Bryan Ferry has a son called Otis and I think Bryan is great!)
