What do you think of this?
I've always loved this name and was worried my Moroccan husband wouldn't but luckily zaviyar is also an Arabic name and same meaning apparently so he's fine with it but it's not common either here or Morocco so I'm worried I'll look try hard.
Not sure how I'll spell it yet but baby not due till Jan so have plenty of time.
Do you think it sounds chavvy or pretentious and also any arabic speakers have you heard of zaviyar?

@FayCarew

It's fine but bet someone will come along and insist it should be pronounced the spanish way
What's the Spanish pronunciation?

I like it pronounced as zaviyar. I've seen it pronounced with a hard X (ex-aviyar) which I don't like.

Definitely at the pretentious end of the spectrum rather than chavy end!
It’s ok, I knew one and he was lovely so it has nice associations for me.

Really like it.

If your DH is Morrocan I'd go with the Moroccan spelling. I really like it, it's well known enough that I'd not assume Spanish heritage so would always ask which pronounciation they'd prefer.
