Can't have Alice, Rosalie or Amelie.

Considering Adeline, Ophelia and Genevieve. Any others? Any favourites? Or any like strong and beautiful names that aren't french that go with this style?

I like Genevieve from your list, but it's pronounced very differently in French vs English.

Also like Anaïs and Céline.

I know a French Josiane - old fashioned now in Francophone countries, but I like it because it gives you all the Jo, Joey, Josie nicknames (plus Anne or Annie) without the awkward -eph- sound of Josephine or Josefina.

Aude
Mathilde
Estella

Non-French names:
Eudora
Gwendolyn
Cordelia
Elvira/Elmira
Marcella
Lucinda
Lucia

From your list I prefer Genevieve.

@BreakfastOfWaffles

Agnes and Margot are nice Not French but might fit the bill - Ines
I think Ines is the French form of Inez (Spanish)? It's a fabulous name.

Another one for Marianne - is that not the name they give to some of the national statues of women in France

I've always liked Elodie.

I've only recently heard of the name Manon but I rather like that too.

ASEAskeptic · 29/09/2021 14:34

Sorry OP I meant to add that your name suggestions are lovely! I love Genevieve, and Ginny as nn. Adeline is gorgeous. Ophelia is absolutely beautiful in its long form. But it does have the unfortunate potential to be shortened to Feely and sometimes idiots say ' I'll feel ya'.

LadyDanburysHat · 29/09/2021 14:34

I love Ophelia and Genevieve.

Youcancallmeval · 29/09/2021 14:28

I knew a fabulous woman called Magali, which I think is a great name.
I love Genevieve when said in a French accent.
