My partner and I haven't found out the sex of the baby but he or she is due in a few weeks and we are still stuck with baby names... we don't really like the typical UK names but don't want something too out there that he/she will be bullied over.

Send me your suggestions!

Wilder Darling sounds great, but the name Wilder in its own isn’t so great. Almanzo?

Definitely Major Darling! Though you might end up calling them a major pain in the arse instead sometimes!

All your choices are very....out there. I know you've said you don't particularly like English names. What about more typically American names?

Harper Darling
Chase Darling
Levi Darling
Avery Darling
Peyton Darling
Phoenix Darling
Austin Darling

The names from the classic story Peter Pan would be perfect as the family's surname is of course Darling, how lovely. George,Mary, Wendy, Michael and John.. take your pick and congratulations

Happenchance · 27/09/2021 22:30

Lennon Darling is OK.

Wilder Darling sounds like a question that someone would ask in the bedroom.

Other suggestions:
Forrestine Darling
Sequoia Darling (works for both sexes)

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/09/2021 22:29

Alistair or Grace.

"Alistair.😂😂😂😂 Are you sure.

Peanutsandchilli · 27/09/2021 22:28

The Darling River is a huge Australian river so I wouldn't go with that. Your names are a bit too out there for me, sorry. I really don't think you can call a kid Leaf, Major, Scout, Thorn or Love. You're setting them up for a lifetime of bullying. Olive has always sounded fairly awful to me too. Like one of those old lady names that just doesn't work on young children.

Foxlover46 · 27/09/2021 22:24

@cdarling thank you ☺️ and so very welcome xx

LemonadeFromLemons · 27/09/2021 22:20

Forrest Darling or Lindon Darling get my vote of your picks otherwise I would have suggested something double barrelled like Sarah-Jane or Mary-Jane or Noah-James, or if looking for more unusual names Xanthe or Seraphina for girls.

talkalarm · 27/09/2021 22:18

I'm really sorry, I love unusual names but I don't think any of them work with your surname. They all sound like suggestions.

Where shall we go? river, darling ?

Ok you do like more unusual names than most of us have suggested!

Of your list my favourites are
River Darling - actually isn’t there a Darling River in Australia?
Lennon Darling

Wilder Darling sounds great, but the name Wilder in its own isn’t so great. Almanzo?

Winter Darling sounds like the answer to a question (“when shall we go skiing dear?”)

Coldhandscoldheart · 27/09/2021 22:10

Delia?
Although now I think it sounds better than it looks. But then you’ll say it more than write it.

cdarling · 27/09/2021 22:10

@GoodbyePorpoiseSpit

Love them all... except Major and Reign oh and Thorne

The rest are all ace I think! River, olive and winter get my vote.

Thanks, my partner's surname is Rivers so that's where that's from... kind of top of both our lists at the moment. It's our first child, is it fair to give that to one!? Was maybe thinking middlename?
