My partner and I haven't found out the sex of the baby but he or she is due in a few weeks and we are still stuck with baby names... we don't really like the typical UK names but don't want something too out there that he/she will be bullied over.

Send me your suggestions!

My first thought was Valentine or Valentina.
I love Tallulah, Tabitha and Scout too.

Yes a hard no from me too for Love Darling, I think they'd have people commenting/making fun ALL the time unfortunately.

I like Emilia from PP, also

Skyler
Tom (could be short name from Thomsasina or Thomas)
Roslyn (boy or girl)

Nothing too cute I think as Darling already is. It's such a lovely last name I'm quite jealous! Smile

Pixxie7 · 28/09/2021 03:29

I would go for something that has 2 meanings such as Rose.

Love Darling

Hard, hard no. That's cruel. And not Bodhi unless you're Buddhist.

I know a few Darlings (two different sets if you can believe it). I do think traditional British names go the best. You already have a noun for a last name so I think a noun for a first name is a lot. Because it will all sound like answers to questions.

What about nice non-British names? Noor, Matteo, Valeria, Femi, Santiago? Unusual but not nouns. Are you British and/or do you have any other cultural heritage?

urbanbuddha · 28/09/2021 01:46

I like River for a boy.

Sorrel or Saffron for a girl maybe. Or Skye.

Definitely not Love.

50ShadesOfCatholic · 28/09/2021 00:29

From your list, Olive is nice. The others strike me as place names.

TaraR2020 · 28/09/2021 00:27

Don't choose Major Darling unless you want to encourage Blackadder impressions! Grin

TaraR2020 · 28/09/2021 00:26

Leif (rather than Leaf) works better I think

Olive Darling is beautiful

What about:
Taran or Briar for a boy?

Blythe for either, but I like it for a girl

Aquamarine1029 · 28/09/2021 00:23

From your list, Olive is the best.

I think you need some strong and simple to balance out the surname. Something like Jane or Ruth.
