Baby name suggestions for surname Darling

My partner and I haven't found out the sex of the baby but he or she is due in a few weeks and we are still stuck with baby names... we don't really like the typical UK names but don't want something too out there that he/she will be bullied over.

Send me your suggestions!

@cdarling

Ok, what are peoples thoughts on;

River Darling
Forrest Darling
Reign Darling
Love Darling
Scout Darling
Leaf Darling
Olive Darling
Thorn Darling
Bodhi Darling
Wilder Darling
Winter Darling
Lindon Darling
Major Darling
Lennon Darling

Olive and Winter are nice. I don't mind Lennon. I prefer Brodie to Bodhi.

Do you and DP plan to get married. Is double barrelling the surnames an option?

Olive Darling-Rivers?

I like your names (except Love, Reign and Major) and I especially love Scout, Bohdi and Lindon - but what you asked was whether they go with Darling.

I don't think any of the 1 syllable names go with Darling. Three syllable names trip off the tongue nicely with Darling, the rhythm just flows better IMO. Are there any 3 syllable names you like?

From your list, the ones that flow best IMO are

Forrest, Wilder, Bohdi, Lindon.

How about

Elodie Darling
Lorelei Darling
Marissa Darling
Tabitha Darling
Alicia Darling
Lavender Darling
Serena Darling
Christabel Darling

Inigo Darling
Taliesin Darling
Elliot Darling
Theodore Darling
Amari Darling

Girl = Lydia or Penny
Boy = Oliver
We have a child called Wilbur at school and that would sound adorable paired with Darling!

On this thread I love Clover, Liberty, Valentine and Roman Darling.

I hope you have multiple children and get to use all 4 names!

Thanks all for your input! A lot of thoughts here, I guess I was lucky at school and with those that surrounded me and would never have thought of many of them...

I don't think that @user1477391263 was being rude. You specifically said in your OP that you don't want something too out there that he/she will be bullied over. @user1477391263 was pointing out that your suggestions don't meet that criteria.

One thing to consider, if you use a noun for a first name there's a risk that people will naturally say the full name with an inclination at the end, like a question. That could become annoying.

ILoveShula · 29/09/2021 10:28

Use whatever name you like, nothing too overused or too out there.

I wouldn't use a noun (e.g. Leaf, Willow - he or she will get It's a leaf, darling jokes) or something that would make a phrase (e,g. Ophelia - I feel you, darling)

I would't use something twee or cutesy.

Zandathepanda · 29/09/2021 10:17

If you want to avoid more teasing:
Don’t use V as the initials will be VD.
O Darling is not good as others have said.

cdarling · 29/09/2021 10:16

Quite like Summer, thank you
