How would you pronounce this name? I guess I'm worried that people will pronounce it like "bee" or is it obvious?

In German Beatrice, Beatrix and Beate are also all pronounced to start with Be-ah

What is it with short names. I'm an Anne, I so wanted to be Josephine Jacqueline, Rosalyn - something with a bit about it. It seems to be especially girls. Do parents want them to be quiet and gentle and stay out of the limelight??
