I’m not keen, but I do like Mary-Kate. Is a bit more modern and not as twee.

SE13Mummy · 18/09/2021 17:08

Love it! DD1 has it as her middle name and I was tempted to use it for DD2's first name but didn't.

ofwarren · 18/09/2021 17:06

I really love it.
Beautiful name

SingingGoldfinch · 18/09/2021 17:02

I'm Mary! I had a phase when I wasn't so keen on it - felt a bit like an old ladies name - but I love it now. It's classic, elegant and actually pretty unusual. I'm mid forties now and Ive never really come across anyone else called Mary my age or younger!

AnyaMoondial · 18/09/2021 16:58

I really like it, it is simple yet strong.

tiredanddangerous · 18/09/2021 16:54

I know a 10 year old Mary. I see it as a very religious name I think. Pretty though.

Elisemum · 18/09/2021 16:53

Ah no, Mary is reserved for grannies, nice name but not for a small child

Derrymum123 · 18/09/2021 16:34

My Dd3's name. Classic. Always very popular at confirmations, love it.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 18/09/2021 16:15

I find it a bit Catholic personally, not my cup of tea. But it’s unusual and rare these days without being difficult to spell or say, which is something.

rslsys · 18/09/2021 16:10

My mother was a Mary and so is DD3!

RiotAtTheRodeo · 18/09/2021 15:34

It's my middle name and the middle name of every girl I grew up with. Too religious for me but if you're not a Catholic you won't have that same association.

Stickytreacle · 18/09/2021 14:58

Classic and lovely name.

hapagirl · 18/09/2021 14:33

I love it!

piglet81 · 18/09/2021 14:32

Lovely name - classic and elegant. You could go for something elaborate as a middle name.

Restinblue · 18/09/2021 14:32

Never liked it. Very old fashioned and prim. I know granny chic names have made a comeback and I’m not keen on them either eg Violet, Ivy, Elsie, Mabel.

DramaAlpaca · 18/09/2021 14:32

Gorgeous name.

Once ubiquitous here in Ireland, it's rare and refreshing now. I love it.

WoozySnoozy · 18/09/2021 14:30

Nice, stands out for not being too try hard to be different. A bit like Lucy, although that seems to be having a revival.

averylongtimeago · 18/09/2021 14:27

It's a lovely name

TheGirlWhoLived · 18/09/2021 14:12

It’s a nice name, quite rare now but I would probably avoid if dd due around Xmas sorry

ladygindiva · 18/09/2021 14:10

I know a 16 yo Mary. Lovely and unusual against all the Olivias , Chloes etc

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 18/09/2021 14:09

Beautiful name. Excellent choice 👌

HappyVagabond · 18/09/2021 14:09

Too religious for me but I guess it's a nice name

Flamingosnbears · 18/09/2021 14:08

Lovely classic name op

Mybalconyiscracking · 18/09/2021 14:08

Beautiful, classic and easy to spell and say. She will grow up with some gravitas!

KirstenBlest · 18/09/2021 14:07

Lovely.
