What is Arthur's sister called?

I feel like I've been through every name in the world and still can't find the "perfect" one.

We're fussy because the surname is long (double barrelled), and so the first name has to be short. Also my family tends to use nicknames, so it has to have a nickname that we like.

We loved Iris for ages, but I hate all nicknames that we can come up with for it. I also love Annie as a nickname, but don't want to give her a nickname as a first name so she can use the longer form when she's older. But the only longer version of Annie that I like is Anastasia, and that feels too long with our surname!

Help!

Elsie. Eslpeth if you want a longer version. But Iris is lovely and doesn’t really get shortened?

Theoldwoman · 18/09/2021 14:23

I wouldn't call Arthur a short now!

However, with that name maybe ...

Kate
Clare
Eve/Eva
Fern
Zara
Ella
Lucy
Ruby
May
Liza
Nina

I love the name Arthur so so much.

His sister is called:
Mabel
Florence
Agnes
Edith
Constance
Cecilia

Any use?

I have an Arthur and am pregnant although we found out we are having a boy.

If baby was a girl she would have been Amber.

I like the Welsh/West Country old English vibe with Arthur; Megan, Isolde, Agnes, Gudrun, etc.

Or Rose/Rosie

Atla · 18/09/2021 12:58

@donquixotedelamancha you beat me to Morgana 😂

I had a great uncle Arthur and his sisters were called Florence, Constance, Margaret and Dorothy (or Flo, Connie, Molly and Dot!)

Lucy, Lily, Clara, Emily, Jane, Grace all have a similar vibe to Arthur I think.

TheOnlyMrsM · 18/09/2021 12:53

Arthur's sister is Annabel, of course. She can be called Anna, Belle, Bella or your loved Annie.
