Thoughts on the name Prairie

What do you guys think of the name Prairie for a boy, my husband wanted to honor his Dad, Perry, if it’s a boy, but I feel like it’s a little dated, I think Prairie sounds kind of cute & more modern….Do you guys prefer the name Perry or Prairie?

I think Prairie is OK but prefer Perry. By the time the baby is 13 nobody will remember Kevin and Perry.

I don’t think anything because it is not actually a persons name. Get your husband to spend the day imagining he is called this and see how that goes. Poor kid.

Actually, now I think about it, is Peregrine (Perry) really any better than Prairie?

Prayer and Prairie are girls' names.

Perry however will always be the hopeless 13yo Harry Enfield character.

In Sheriff Callie (Disney junior bollox) there’s a place called the ‘scary prairie’.

It was the first thing I thought of.

Perry is grand. Not Prairie!

If you're unsure about Perry, why not make that the middle name?

Prairie is not my style but could be really cute on a girl, I wouldn’t call a boy it.
I also hate the name Perry, it just reminds me of Kevin and Perry.

Prairie sounds, if anything, like a girls name.
Kids can be really cruel, I don’t think a boy with that name would have a happy time in high school. Sorry.
