I'm wavering now

For our second boy I suggested Cameron, I absolutely loved it.
(We are in Scotland and our first is Arthur).
My husband came round to it and was totally set on it and started referring to baby as Cameron
But now the more he said it, it just doesn't feel right. I have no idea why I have gone off it.

I asked him to consider other names and I've been suggesting a fair amount but he says no to them
I think he just has Cameron set in his mind.
He told me last night that he suggested Albert, Malcolm and another name I've forgotten but I don't like Malcolm..I did say I quite liked Albert to which DH told me I apparently said I hated it when he first suggested it a few months ago🤦

So Albert or Cameron....what would you choose?!

Lol dh suggested Hamish but when I said it out loud he immediately said no.
Also our last name wouldn't go with it. It would sound like a hairy oxter.

Hamish, love it!

Derbee · 14/09/2021 00:36

I think Cameron is lovely

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 13/09/2021 21:30

I definitely don't like Calum or Campbell etc no idea why!

But the response on here is making me feel like coming round to Cameron again

I love Cameron - DS2 would've been Cameron if there hadn't been another one born just down the road about six weeks before he arrived Smile Calum seems the obvious alternative? I've always liked Cal as a nickname.

Wole · 13/09/2021 18:43

Cameron

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 13/09/2021 18:11

See maybe I just need to say Cameron a few more time and maybe I'll come round to it again. Because it was me who absolutely loved it and talked my husband into it!

Meant to say we have a very short last name so I don't think short first names go very well

Cameron is lovely!

JasonMomoasgirlfriend · 13/09/2021 18:09

Thanks for all your suggestions. :)

Robert is my husband's name so we wouldn't use it again.

didn't know Ben meant younger son/brother! I like it more now :)

Yes we would deffo call Cameron "Cammie". We know one who is absolutely lovely and he is called Cammie

Amdone123 · 13/09/2021 13:10

I like Cameron, too. And I think it goes with Arthur better than another old name if that makes sense.
Elliot is lovely, as is Ellis.

yourestandingonmyneck · 13/09/2021 13:09

Arthur and Robert is also good, per a pp

yourestandingonmyneck · 13/09/2021 13:08

Or Alasdair

yourestandingonmyneck · 13/09/2021 13:08

Arthur and Albert would be a definite no for me.

Cameron is good.

Ben is nice, particularly as it means younger son / brother.

Elliot is very good.

How about Fraser?

I quite like Cameron but it doesn't feel like it goes with Arthur for me and it seems a bit dated by comparison. Are you also ok with Cammie as a nn as everyone I know in Scotland gets that?

Arthur & George
Arthur & Henry
Arthur & Patrick
Arthur & Rory or Ruaridh
Arthur & Brodie
