Cant stand Madeleine sorry or Madeline. It is just so boring MC. Eleanor much nicer. Would call her Nor for short not Ellie.

Eleanor is timeless and beautiful in my opinion, but they are both lovely names to be fair. Also Madeleine will almost certainly become Maddie at school although she will of course be able to choose what she wants to be called, but the Eleanors I know seem to remain Eleanors regardless.

Both are lovely. I wanted Madeline for my first daughter, DH refused as he'd only ever heard of 1 Madeline Hmm We compromised and it's her middle name.

Madeleine. As lovely as Eleanor is it is yet another El- name. Madeleine would feel a little different.

Madeline is the traditional English spelling of the name. Madeleine is French, not 'the right way'. Both spellings are fine.
