Sister for Jennifer

pumpkinpie07 · 07/09/2021 09:53

We have a Jennifer (known as Jenny)

Currently expecting another baby but we don't know the sex.

What would you expect her sister to be called? Looking for ideas and suggestions.

My current favourite is Annabelle (Anna)

Thanks Smile

I think if you definitely want to use Anna then it's safest to just use Anna (a classic/traditional name in it's own right like Jennifer). Annabel might be okay - but you could also get Belle/Bella if she insists when older. Same with Susanna, Rosanna, Antonia etc - you risk her wanting Suze/Suki, Rose/Rosa, Nina/Nia etc so you need to be happy with the alternative nn's too.

Jennifer is Cornish isn't it, so you could look at other names with Cornish roots

Tamara

(That's the extent of my Cornish name knowledge!)

With Jennifer (Jenny) definitely something of the same era that hasn't come back into fashion.

Diana
Leanna

But Annabel is nicer than all of these and just Anna is best of all I think - classic, strong, beautiful name and if you want to call her Anna as a nickname anyway I’d just name her Anna.

Rosanna
Joanna
Marianne
Pollyanna

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Interesting that lots of you say Annabel is nicer and fits better with Jennifer.

Does anyone have any suggestions for names that could shorten to Anna? I think Jenny and Anna would go quite well together.

Came on here to suggest Abigail and Lucy. Both of these have been suggested already. I also like the name Tamsin.

For boys, Matthew, Benjamin, Harry or David.
