pumpkinpie07 · 07/09/2021 09:53

We have a Jennifer (known as Jenny)

Currently expecting another baby but we don't know the sex.

What would you expect her sister to be called? Looking for ideas and suggestions.

My current favourite is Annabelle (Anna)

Thanks Smile

I have a Jennifer too! Not many around. If we had another girl, I would have called her Elsie (short for Elizabeth).

HomeSliceKnowsBest · 10/09/2021 18:14

I'm a Jennifer Elizabeth and my sister is Rebecca Katherine.

PennyWus · 09/09/2021 05:50

Annabelle, Annabel, Arabella, Annabella - LOADS around in my DD's school. I prefer the nn Bella personally but a lot of them are Annie or Anna.

How about
Marianne
Annaliese
Lianne
Roseanne
Anneke

I once knew a girl called Cerianne, with a hard "C" which was pretty, perhaps made up.

Kanaloa · 09/09/2021 05:17

Jennifer is a lovely name, hope it comes back to popularity soon, same with Jessica.

Anna is very nice too, I would use it by itself. The only longer name I can think of with Anna as a nickname is Annabel/Anneliese. If I had a Jennifer I’d call her sisters Hannah and Bethany. I think they go together.

MrsBertBibby · 09/09/2021 05:13

Rosalind goes well.

Anna, however, is a gorgeous name. Strong, classic, straightforward, not posh, not common, not faddy.

Anna could conduct a bus, or an orchestra, or a coup d'etat, and she'd do them all with aplomb.

Jennifer's sister should be called Sarah.

Her brother should be Richard, obviously.

@Keke94LND

My name is Jennifer, I have a sister called Helen and a sister called Elizabeth, I think our names go quite well :)
I am Elizabeth and my sister is a Jennifer. I also know a pair of sisters 12 and 14 who are Elizabeth and Jennifer. The Elizabeth has been in combination with my middle name used in the family for centuries going back to Tudor times - long story about showing loyalty to a particular king after a family member lost his head over Rome.
Vaselike · 08/09/2021 22:22

I may have a reason to have overly noticed this over the years, but the Jennifer/Catherine combination is one that I have seen repeatedly.

Ginevere · 08/09/2021 22:18

My sister is a Jennifer and I’m a Catherine, I’ve always thought that worked quite well!

YoureTheTop · 08/09/2021 22:16

Susanna?

PearlyRising · 08/09/2021 20:57

Oh somebody upthread suggested Susannah and that goes really well with Jennifer.

EducatingArti · 08/09/2021 20:40

Alison, nn Ali

PearlyRising · 08/09/2021 20:39

Annabel or Elizabeth
Eleanor would also go with Jennifer.
Unusual choice today but it's still a good name!
