Cecilia - pretty
Celeste - ok
Daphne - not keen
Felicity - not keen
Josephine - not keen
Serena - ok
Sylvia - ok, really like Sylvie as a nn!

bobandhisburgers · 06/09/2021 18:30
  1. Adeline
  2. Camilla
  3. Celeste

These are the only ones I like. I do like Josephine but not together with Juliet really. I prefer Cecile to Cecilia.

Smurftastic · 06/09/2021 18:27

@minmooch

I love Celeste

How about Cecily rather than Cecilia.

I don't like Cecily as it's too easy to rhyme 'Silly Cecily' Blush. Probably silly of me to think so!

WhoppingBigBackside · 06/09/2021 18:23

I like Bianca too.

@DDSMUM2, you could start your own thread and if you post a photo of your DS, you will get lots of replies. Congratulations, Flowers

Smurftastic · 06/09/2021 18:21

@DDSMUM2 is it 6 weeks from birth you have to decide? What about start calling him one of the names for next week or so and see if it feels right?

DDSMUM2 · 06/09/2021 18:19

Help! How do you choose between two baby names.. DS is a week old now and we still can’t decide!

Synchrony · 06/09/2021 17:45

I seem to be in the minority liking Bianca! I think Juliet and Bianca are lovely together and very Shakespearian. I like most of your names except Josephine (love the name, just not with Juliet).

RavenclawsRoar · 06/09/2021 17:25

I love Celeste and Serena - those are my top choices.
Bianca and Josephine are a hard no. I really dislike both - they sound clunky to me.
The rest I like, although I'm not totally sold on Cecilia.

WhoppingBigBackside · 06/09/2021 17:18

Juliet and Felicity sound like sisters

Smurftastic · 06/09/2021 17:17

@OddsNSodsBitsNBobs

Love Josephine, with benefits of NNs Joey/josie

Prefer Sylvie to Sylvia.

Dont like the others but if you like Felicity how about Verity?

Love Verity, but can't use it unfortunately!

@eddiemairswife

As you have a Juliet it might be wise not to have another 'J' name. Could lead to confusion with correspondence addressed to Miss/Ms J. ......
Good point.

I really like Sylvia and Adeline.

I also quite like Josephine, but wouldn't with Juliet. Having shared initials with my siblings, I wouldn't recommend it.

The others are also nice, but I'd rank lower.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 06/09/2021 15:52

I'd be so tempted by Sylvia (Silvia) - an beautiful but subtle Shakespearean link (I know Bianca is too, but I dislike it, sorry!).

Of your other choices I really like both Cecilia and Serena with Juliet. Have you considered Celia? - another elegant (Shakespearean) choice, with a lovely meaning and avoids the Cece/Sissy thing.

Having said that, of your choices the only one I really dislike (apart from Bianca) is Daphne, it sounds too similar to daft/daffy for me.

TakeMeBackTo1980 · 06/09/2021 15:47

This is what I would rate them

  1. Celeste - absolutely beautiful name!
  2. Camilla - also beautiful
  3. Daphne - lovely
  4. Felicity - very nice
  5. Josephine - goes well with Juliet

I think Celest is a very elegant, feminine name and I wish I'd used it for my DD! It also goes beautifully with Juliet

I've left the ones i don't like off the list :)

Mumtotwofurbabies · 06/09/2021 15:42

I like Josephine, Cecilia, Adeline and Felicity

Sillysuzie · 06/09/2021 15:35

Adeline- sounds like a writing instruction . Prefer Adalyn.

Bianca- EastEnders

Camilla- too royal

Cecilia- love it

Celeste- not keen. Seems stiff. Dunno why.

Daphne- different but lovely

Felicity- I picture long red hair in pigtail braids with bows and a massive wide toothy smile. Don't know why. But I see her.

Josephine- Juliet and Josephine works well together. I'd choose Josephine.

Serena- powerful, athletic. Probably because of the tennis player.

Sylvia- nanna name

AdaColeman · 06/09/2021 15:31

My favourites are Camilla, Cecilia and Serena, though it’s a lovely list, and I like most of them.
My least favourites are Bianca, Daphne and Josephine.
Paloma would fit into that list I think.

Onehotmess · 06/09/2021 15:25

Serena is beautiful and my hubby won’t let me have it so you should! X

Lightningrain · 06/09/2021 15:23

Adeline - I think you might get people mispronouncing it but I don’t mind it

Bianca - I just hear it in a cockney accent, sorry (Eastenders)
Camilla - ok but first thought was Prince Charles and Camilla
Cecilia - I like Cecilia but find Cece a bit twee
Celeste - like it
Daphne - like it
Felicity - dislike. It’s a bit frilly for my liking.
Josephine
Serena - love this
Sylvia - it’s a nice enough name but still seems a bit old lady to my ears.

eddiemairswife · 06/09/2021 15:15

zingally · 06/09/2021 15:05

I like Serena, but the rest aren't to my taste personally.

LanisHouseLot · 06/09/2021 15:02

Really like Serena, Daphne and Josephine.

Once I look past the eastenders connection I really like Bianca. But it will always make people think of Eastenders and she'd get lots of tedious comments. I'd avoid it on that basis.
