I think it depends on what kind of name you want. Henry is very classic. While not as timeless as something like Edward or William which haven't dropped out of the top 100 since 1904, I know several Henries my age, older than me and younger than me. Some people might find a name like Henry dull, but it's solid, classless and is unlikely to drop hugely out of favour.

Felix is trendier. It has the 'x' which is a letter of the moment in naming at the moment. It's shaken the cat association and is growing steadily from outside the top 200 to into the top 100 and still rising. I would predict it following Hugo into the top 50, and maybe further into the top 25. I think Felix will date more than Henry, but it's a more interesting name. I also love the meaning of Felix if that's important to you.

Henry of Felix all the way

StevieNix · 03/09/2021 17:32

Love both but I know less baby Felix’s so I would go with that one!

Felix - too many Henrys around!! Also love the meaning

CheekyAFAIK · 01/09/2021 20:29

I like both. I think Henry has more posh connotations than Felix.

Winecurestiredness · 01/09/2021 20:29

In hindsight though, I maybe would have chosen Harrison instead of Henry if I wanted a more unique name.

Winecurestiredness · 01/09/2021 20:28

My DS2 is Henry. His older brother is 'pet' sort of name like Felix. He is called Oscar and I got so much of 'ooh my cat/dog is called Oscar!" But none of that with Henry. I've had more compliments on Henry's name than Oscar.

OrangeAndYellowAndBlue · 01/09/2021 20:25

I like both, but I've met so many babies and toddlers called Henry that Felix edges it for me. Lovely meaning too

TenThousandSpoons · 01/09/2021 18:16

Henry.
Felix is posher, but also makes me think of the cat (and the cat food).
Also don’t like the “licks” sound in Felix.

The Henrys I know aren’t naughty.

Lonelylooloo · 01/09/2021 17:49

I just can not hear felix without thinking CAT

Henry is lovely, big fan!

Sidneysussex · 01/09/2021 17:48

Henry is a naughty boy name sorry but actually all the Henry's I have ever met have been naughty.
Felix is great a classic with some serious history and lovely meaning.

peaceinourtime · 01/09/2021 16:19

I would say Felix as there are lots of Henry's.

WildCherryBlossom · 01/09/2021 15:47

Felix!!! I love it.

Henry is fine but actually I prefer James, George and William of the classic "King" names. I always think of Henry VIII.

PurplePizzaCake · 01/09/2021 05:47

Both great, but I prefer Henry

SukonthaM · 01/09/2021 05:44

@IsThePopeCatholic

Felix. Henry is too posh.
Is Henry posh? All of the naughty boys at my school are called Henry, they’re certainly not posh. One of their mums even calls them the horrid Henrys Grin
Balonzette · 01/09/2021 04:46

Felix

Anystarinthesky · 01/09/2021 00:07

Twizbe · 31/08/2021 21:45

I like both but I know lots of Henry's and Felixs born recently.

LizzieBet14 · 31/08/2021 21:38

I love Henry. Felix reminds me of a cat.....

IsThePopeCatholic · 31/08/2021 21:34

Felix. Henry is too posh.
