Heather / Erica?

Thoughts on the names Erica and Heather?

I love Heather, but feel like Heather as a name might be a bit dated. Erica is Latin for heather, as well as being a Scandinavian name, meaning 'ruler'. I actually think it's quite pretty.

In Scotland, Heather is a very popular name. I don't know if that bothers you?

I love both. Would choose Heather.

I prefer Erica.

I know quite a few Heathers, including a couple of younger ones, and in my part of the SE it gets pronounced as Hevva

Love Heather! V pretty. Erica is a bit harsher sounding for me.

Iike them both but prefer Erica. Heather tends to be hevva round here.

They're both, to my ears at least, 1980s cheerleader names. That's not a criticism as they're both pretty. I think I'd go for Erica but Heather has a nice soft sound.

I think they are both lovely

If I had to choose I would probably opt for Heather but only because E names are massively popular so an H name makes a nice change!
