Lois?

I've seen Lois mentioned a couple of times recently and I actually really like it - what do you think?

I'm thinking of Lois pronounced 'Low-is', rather than the Welsh version, which is 'Loyce' (I think?)

I love it. We had a Loud on my arc for ages. She was such a character, we loved her. Though doctors calling her Lewis drove us up the wall.

I have Family Guy on at the moment and the name just reminds me of that, it would be a nice name but FG is all I think of

It's not a name that appeals to me. I know a couple and they're nice people but the name is a bit dull to my ears.

I think it’s lovely. In Wales she will have to correct the Loyce pronunciation a lot but in England I think Low-iss would be the default.

I work with a Lois and I knew one as a child.
I know a Lowri (pronounced Lourie as in loud) which I also like.

It reminds me of Malcolm in the Middle- Lois is my favourite! It's also a lovely and fairly unusual name.

I teach a 17 year old Lois and have always thought it is a lovely name . Only ever taught one in over 20 years .

I just hear Peter griffin from Family Guy saying the name which slightly taints it for me sadly!

Until a few years ago, id only ever heard it fictionally, as Lois Lane, but now there are about 5 at DD's school - all in different years.

That's really interesting. I was having a look at the stats and apparently it's declining in popularity - it was 130th in the charts and is now 265th.
