Rian pronounciation

Hi all,

4 years ago we tested our daughters name for pronunciation here (on morning of registration!). It was really helpful & accurate so thought would try again now that we have a newborn boy. Preferred name is Rian, how would you pronounce:

  1. Ree-un
  2. Ryan
  3. Ree-ahn
  4. Ree-anne
Any others?

We may play around with spellings if there is ambiguity. Thanks again !

I would go for 4 but assume it's A girls name like Rhian

I would pronounce it Ree-un and think it was a misspelling of the girl's name Rhian.

I am also influenced by Rhian, but would pronounce more like Ree-anne. The girls name does have a hint of the h where the R is rolled, but I would leave that out for Rian.

I think I would pronounce it like Ryan but with emphasis on the 'an' so like Ry-AN

I only know a female with the name Rhian, which is pronounced as your example 1. I would pronounce Rian in the same way.
