Freya or Juliette?

Juliette sounds a bit too posh but I like the potential for shortening and it's more unusual.

Freya is beautiful but quite common around here. And no real possibility of nn.

Thoughts?

I prefer the Juliet spelling, if you want to shorten it she could be Ettie.

Chunkymenrock · 22/08/2021 18:54

Juliette.

Giantwaterbottle · 22/08/2021 18:52

Juliette with Lettie as a nickname

Chachachawoo · 22/08/2021 18:47

Juliette.

Babydust13 · 22/08/2021 18:40

I like Juliet but would spell it like this I don't like any nicknames for it though

AtomicSquirrel3 · 22/08/2021 18:38

Freya

WeDidntMeanToGoToSea · 22/08/2021 17:38

Tbh, neither. Julia is nice, though, classic, international, and pleasantly retro.

Cotswoldmama · 22/08/2021 17:37

Juliet I'd spell it that way as it'll be annoying for her to have to spell it out all the time.

DinaofCloud9 · 22/08/2021 17:35

Juliette but I prefer spelling it as Juliet.

labradorsandgin · 22/08/2021 17:30

Freya is faddy and overpopular.

campion · 22/08/2021 17:14

Juliet with that spelling.
You don't need to shorten it.

WhoppingBigBackside · 22/08/2021 17:08

Prefer Juliet, with that spelling.

woodfort · 21/08/2021 23:08

Juliet (or if you just, Juliette) over Freya but Freya is quite nice also.

Livvielo · 21/08/2021 22:33

I also love Julia

Livvielo · 21/08/2021 22:33

Definitely Juliette.
Nicknames - Ettie?
I know a Juliette, she is 14 and is known as Jules.

annacondom · 21/08/2021 22:19

Juliet. The original spelling, as in Romeo and, is classy. Freya isn't awful but to me says 1980s, which is maybe not a huge problem.

MeMumI · 21/08/2021 22:14

Juliette and I prefer this spelling to Juliet too.

TempsPerdu · 21/08/2021 22:13

Another vote for Juliet, but only this spelling as the extra letters are unnecessarily fussy for my taste.

Freya is fine but overdone.

Miliao · 21/08/2021 22:11

Juliette is my preference, and don’t worry, it’s definitely not posh!

pilates · 21/08/2021 21:47

Juliette

luciasanta · 21/08/2021 21:43

Juliette

DramaAlpaca · 21/08/2021 21:42

Juliet rather than Juliette, but prefer both to Freya.

Synchrony · 21/08/2021 21:40

I love Juliette, but unfortunately hate the nicknames, especially Jules. So I'd pick Freya. But if you like the nicknames, then Juliette is nicer!

Blue4YOU · 21/08/2021 21:34

Juliette - my DD’s middle name is Julianna. I love Julia, Julie, JuJu is so cute!
