Just that really!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Neither. Both pretentious.

RuthW · 19/08/2021 07:24

Octavia is lovely

userxx · 19/08/2021 07:05

I was going to be an octavia, thank Christ my mum changed her mind.

minatrina · 19/08/2021 07:03

Both names are beautiful and I know lovely people with both names, but definitely Cosima in my opinion!

ArabellaPilkington · 19/08/2021 06:42

Everyone my age knows that Octavia had dreadful cankles but went to the Sourh of France with Rupert & Julian and tanned beautifully and then was given fishnets at Christmas which transformed them.,,.or was that another Jilly Cooper novel? Grin

Chickydoo · 19/08/2021 06:36

Octavia is a car

luciasanta · 19/08/2021 06:30

Cosima

Balonzette · 19/08/2021 05:56

Octavia for sure.

Chunkymenrock · 19/08/2021 05:50

Neither. How about the fabulous Cassia instead?

douliket · 19/08/2021 05:49

Oh God, neither,sorry op
Octavia sounds like a spoilt brat
Is cosimo even an name??
Sounds awful either way

It's sounds like you are trying too hard for a posh name

There are so many beautiful , elegant names out there, but not the above two

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 19/08/2021 03:58

Octavia is lovely, very elegant (Shakespearean) imo - and thanks to the popularity of similar Olivia and rising popularity of Ophelia, I don't think it sounds as "out there" or overly "posh" as it might have done 20 years ago.

I don't dislike quirky Cosima but I do prefer the nn's for Octavia too (Tay/Tavi) over Cossie.

Octavia is beautiful. Cosima always sounds wrong to me, and I associate it with Nigella Lawson! (Name of her daughter.) I don’t like it that much.

coachmylife · 19/08/2021 00:53

The only Cosima I know is known as Cossie (as in swimming…)

MojoJojo71 · 19/08/2021 00:38

I’m afraid I have no idea how to pronounce Cosima. Is it Coss-ee-ma?

I’m not keen on Octavia but I know a lovely lady named Ottavia which I’ve always thought was beautiful

AbsolutelyPatsy · 19/08/2021 00:37

for kittens

SleepingStandingUp · 19/08/2021 00:36

@Galaxygirl93

Are you a fan of The 100 and Orphan Black by any chance? :-)
I am and had them both on my girl list 🤣 couldn't have Raven as we know one haha

I'd pick Octavia if i could only have one but they're both great

ozymandiusking · 19/08/2021 00:35

Octavia. We called one of our kittens Octavia. Often called Tayvie for short.

Buttercup54321 · 19/08/2021 00:34

Ooctavia
Cosima sounds like a swimming costume

PricklesTheHedgehog · 19/08/2021 00:28

Cosima

Cbeebiesrehab · 18/08/2021 23:48

Octavia. As a PP said I struggle with the pronunciation of Cosima.

manhattenrain · 18/08/2021 23:25

@Bimblybomeyelash

Octavia. I guess Tavi for a nn?

What about:
Saskia
Claudia

Or Via
Dotoallasyouwouldbedoneby · 18/08/2021 23:25

toastofthetown · 18/08/2021 23:20

I prefer Cosima. It flows better for me.
