BJ initials with MIDDLE name

I know it's been done to death, but I'm wondering what your opinions are on initials spelling 'BJ' with first and middle name?
We're set on using 'Joyce' as middle name for our second daughter as it's a family name, but I really like a few first names starting with 'B'.
Is this a viable idea or should I just let it go?

Our surname starts with 'H', so first name/last name initials would be 'BH'. With middle name it would be 'BJH'.

Some companies/universities go for a combination of name/middle name/surname as email addresses so Bridget Jane Brown could have BJBrown@ or BrownBJ@ as her email address.

These are my initials. My first name begins with a B and middle name is actually Joyce believe it or not!

I have never ever been bullied about it in my life, in fact I don't think anyone has ever commented on it at all. I'm literally struggling to think if it's ever even been mentioned by anyone. I've obviously been aware of it myself, but middle names never really get used and it's honestly never come up. Even if it did, I'd just laugh it off or something, it's not a big deal.

Like Boris do you mean?

I’d add another middle name too tbh. Incidentally BH means bra in German but I don’t think you need to worry about that unless you plan to live in a German speaking country!

Kids sometimes have to write their full names on (e.g.) Sats papers (well maybe it's not required, but the schools here seem to get them to do it!).

And later on, initials are used for email addresses and various other things. And passports on trips, checklists that have to be initialled, etc (yes sometimes just first/last, but can be more, esp if there are two people with same initials).

So just because adults may not know their friends middle names or initials, doesn't mean children at school won't. they seem to know names, middle names, and birthdays of most their class!

I don’t know half of my friends middle names.

Angel2702 · 17/08/2021 10:05

I don’t think it will be an issue. Nobody uses their middle name or initial at school, nobody would know their middle name unless they told them.

Pick a non B first name! Don’t saddle a baby with the horror of bullying over their initials.

Smurftastic · 17/08/2021 10:01

Perhaps it might be easier to look at some names NOT starting with 'B' then!

Yes agree with above add another, I know it’s silly but there is no way on earth I would give my child an initial with BJ even if it was a middle name, avoid at all costs. My kids names (each) start with S T and D and even someone noticed that 🤦‍♀️

LakeShoreD · 17/08/2021 09:52

I’d add another middle name before Joyce so it becomes BAJH (for example).
