What do you think of the name Bridie Ann Wales?

Bridie has been my favourite female name for a long time. Ann is the middle name, do you think it flows well? What are your thoughts about it?

Paisley Ann Wales goes well - it's not that dissimilar. Maybe Bridie Ann Wales does work if P.A.W does!

I love the name Bridie - I knew a lovely girl by that name when I was at at school in the 70's but doubt I have heard it since - it does sound old but it looks and sounds pretty and is nice to say - Bridie - "like a bride" - what could be prettier!? I'd ignore the resonances from Ireland.

Bridie Ann goes together - Bridie Wales is fine but Bridie Ann Wales not as much perhaps that is just my opinion - it counts for nothing - a one or three syllable middle works best i think - Bryne, Lynn or Wyn have Welsh connections and seem to go well (not that that means anything) - I don't understand why we have middle names - I dislike my middle name and don't even use it when asked to give my full name unless specifically asked for like on a passport - my signature never uses my middle initial - I'd never use it as an alternative to my first name (which I also dislike!)

Well, assuming the OP lives in the UK, and ‘ignores the resonances from Ireland’ and also ‘ignores the resonances from Scotland’ which associate the name with a meat pasty, that’s quite a lot of ignoring to need to be doing.

Ann is a lovely name, but was so overused as a middle name in the middle of the 20th century.

Bridget nn Bridie is nice, but not with Ann as a middle name.

I think these are due a comeback. Enid is welsh and is pronounced Ennid, not Eenid.

I think Beryl is ok too.

With a surname like Wales, I'd be tempted to use the first name Josephine nn Josie.

So old fashioned and when combined with an old fashioned middle name it just sounds dull and dowdy.

I quite like it but Bridie Ann sounds a bit Mills & Boon. And it looks like it should be a soft cute name but isn't in my accent. But despite that I do like it

My mother nearly called me Bridie, I'm so glad she didn't.
It might sound ridiculous but I remember a (horrible) relative saying about a woman at a wedding "she may be called Bridie but she's never been a bride".

Another one thinking of a meat pastie. Where a first name ends with a vowel sound and the second name begins with one, it doesn't flow well either. Bry Deanne.

Pretty. A lot of the names that are popular now would have been considered terrible old lady names a generation ago. I think Bridie is lovely and you'll be ahead of the curve.

I know a 20 something Bridie, standalone, not a Bridget. Honestly she spends her life saying 'Actually no it isn't Bridget' It seems tiresome to me.
