Carlin/carlyn after a family member named Caroline? I've been watching bringing up the bates and it's really growing on me

Really horrible, sorry

ForkedIt · 29/07/2021 22:26

Why would you want to associate your daughter with the Bates family?

QueSeraSarah · 29/07/2021 22:25

Carlin Howe... Cheapest Beer in Britain. Not keen, sorry.

Lightningrain · 29/07/2021 22:25

I know a Carlyn and a lot of people mistake it for Carolyn which annoys her.

I don’t really have a strong opinion on the name itself but definitely prefer the Carlyn spelling as it seems more feminine.

Carlin - as in sister for Boatlin, Buslin and Lorryin - definitely not.

Scarby9 · 29/07/2021 22:18

Charles or Carl would be a male link to Caroline.

Botherfreedays · 29/07/2021 22:18

As in Carlin peas? Was my first thought, so no.

Scarby9 · 29/07/2021 22:17

I quite like the sound but my immediate connection was carlin peas.

My sister is Karlyn. It's such a pretty name!

andromedana · 29/07/2021 22:16

Really not a fan, it reminds me of Carling too much
