Carlin/carlyn after a family member named Caroline? I've been watching bringing up the bates and it's really growing on me

If you want to name a child after a family member called Caroline, name them Caroline.

I don't see how it's any improvement on Caroline or Carolyn tbh. I think Caroline is a rather nice name.

I would think it a boy's name if I read it rather than seeing a girl attached to it. Not a big fan.

Carlin makes me think of the beer. Carlyn, I'd just assume was a typo for Carolyn.
Caroline is actually a very pretty name as it is.

I know an Carlyn (knew her as a child, she's now an early 40s woman), she's lovely. It's a pretty name.

Does Caroline have a middle name you could use instead? Carlin sounds too much like beer and people will constantly think its a misspelling of a different name.

How about Carlene? Johnny Cash has a daughter called Carlene.

Carlin reminds me of how people say darlin' instead of darling Confused or of course Carling.
